Who could have possibly seen that 17-24 year old players who think they are god's gift to the earth would take advantage of such a system?

These “kids” are paid mercenaries- nothing more nothing less.
They come from impoverished backgrounds and a vast majority of them lack any redeemable quality other than they can play football.
Why the fact that these people have no loyalty to a program nor are interested in building a “team” should come as no surprise.
Trash people doing things for our amusement.

I prefer the NFL
I wasn't replying to you, just replied to the last post in the thread to say my point. I also prefer the NFL and have since I got out of college. My post was directed towards the, "I like college because they are playing for more than money" crowd. Which was bullshite in several ways

Has the government ever fixed anything? I sincerely hope the government stays out of College/Sim- pro football.
I don’t want them involved either, but to play devil’s advocate, federal court rulings have put college football into the position that it’s in right now. It’s probably true that the only way to get around those rulings and create a system that actually works is for Congress to act. Any private organization will be toothless because of these rulings.

According to several boosters, they were thinking NIL would help build success on the football field, and in return, the players would want to stay to be a part of something special.
See folks, you don't have to be smart to be successful.

Not going back and the transfer rule wasn’t due to Covid…due to fear of discrimination or racism accusation. When the doors completely opened was when players learned they could use racism as a way to get a waiver. Thank the transfer from Georgia to OSU…but it was inevitable. He just showed the way.

Most of the billionaires were always going to be bored of this at some point, even if players were sticking around.

I am shocked that State is struggling during the NIL era***
I think that anyone who has given even $1 to NIL is an absolute moron.
Do I like it when Arkansas wins? Yes. Is the quality of my life tied to it in any tangible way? Heck no. And anyone's who is needs to reprioritize.
I give plenty away. But it goes to the Tim Tebow foundation, St. Jude's, Salvation Army, Mercy Chefs, the national and international mission boards, my local church, etc. You know, stuff that actually matters because it helps people who are actually in need?

According to CBS sports and SI, boosters are strongly considering pulling back their NIL money because players are simply using them for a quick payday and the following year are off to another program.
I’m not sure I believe this. Guys with that amount of money don’t get there by being dumb.
