“Most liberals aren’t even aware of whatever the frick this controversy is. The fact that conservatives seem to know more about what is going on in liberal media than actual liberals is unhealthy levels of obsession. We don’t like CNN either, but go ahead and continue crying about “the MSM” while watching the most popular cable news channel, Fox News.”
Then why has the “tomahawk chop” dominated the editorial sections of CNN, NY Times, and every other reliably liberal media source? I don’t know if Fox News has even mentioned it, as I don’t watch that network. I do know that the aforementioned publications have covered the “issue” extensively over the past two days, thus prompting my post.
Im sure playing the Mississippi liberal wins you many friends among the baristas and livestock, but you’re mistaken in believing this is not politicized by (presumably) your side of the aisle.
However, it’s welcome insanity. If Youngkin wins VA, it’ll be exclusively due to the identity politics promulgated by your party. Keep it going.

1. FSU gets to do the tomahawk chop and use the Seminoles as their mascot because they got permission. That doesn’t necessarily transfer to a completely unrelated MLB team.
Oh so it's only racist if you don't get permission?

You just answered your own question. The editorial sections of those newspapers are written by morons for morons. The editorial section of Fox News is even worse.

1. I’m not a democrat, so it’s not “my party.”
2. Why the frick would I care who wins the VA governor race? It’s not my state. Do you actually follow a governor race for a state you don’t live in because it plays to your insane conspiracy theories?

You know, your incessant shite posting about A&M used to concern me about your mental health.
No longer. You're focking insane and I've lost interest in you.
I figure you've got 2-3 years at most before being institutionalized.

The question isn’t about whether it’s racist, but whether or not it’s offensive.
If the affected cultural group overwhelmingly agrees that it’s not offensive, then it’s not offensive.

My conspiracy theory that one of the most important swing states serves as a harbinger for the midterm elections? Uh, yes, I do subscribe to that particular theory. And I would like to see how underscoring identity politics as a Dem policy platform plays in a southern state that hasn’t gone red since 2008.

it is cultural appropriation
Is it racist for blacks, Hispanics or Asians to cook or serve spaghetti or lasagna? Can they sing songs written and sung by white people? The cultural appropriation narrative is a one-way street: only whites can be guilty of it.

It’s unlikely to predict the overall power balance in congress, which my bet is that it will not shift back to the right for the time being.
There’s a lot of examples of governor elections not representing how a state votes in congressional or presidential elections.

What the hell are you even talking about? You’re missing the whole point.
“Cultural appropriation” isn’t even the issue here - if there even is one.

You may be right. It may also be the case that suburbanites voting Red in Northern VA predicts suburbanites in even more conservative zip codes also voting Red in the midterms. I can’t prophecy the future, but occasionally checking VA gubernatorial polls and reading varied editorial sections doesn’t make me a conspiracist. I’m sorry I branded you a Mississippi liberal, there’s no need for name calling.

Also, the fact that “a lot of examples” may exist is a logical fallacy. The question is whether statewide swing state elections (like a VA governor’s race) predicts midterm results.
I haven’t done the research, but it’s not unlikely that a newly red VA predicts Dem losses in states like GA.

The poster to whom I responded said the chop was cultural appropriation. My response was meant to illustrate that cultural appropriation never applies to minorities imitating white culture, but only the other way around. A black-owned soul food joint serving spaghetti or lasagna is culturally appropriating Italian culture, but white-guilt soy boys don't give a shite about that.

“soy boys”
Soy is native to East Asia. I’m assuming that you’re White, yet you invoke “soy” as an insult.
You are a bigot.
