The only thing about Mizzou that is remotely intimidating is Drew Lock

I am one of the few who upvoted you because yours is a genuine attempt at good football discussion ... something sadly lacking around here at times.

You make angood case with regard to Mizzou's possible strengths this year. Oh, but no one is under estimating Mizzou's potential to play a spoiler role in the East this season.

Wish you had taken a closer look at your schedule.

Wish you had expounded on the question marks.

quote:

We have a few question marks like most every team, but this team will be better than most on this board think. If those question marks get positive answers then this team will be damn good and push UGA hard for the East.

IMHO that last sentence is where you fail.

It's not written in granite anywhere that UGA is a shoe-in to take the East. They'll be favored but they have no gimmes in the East with the possible exception of Vandy and, as they well know, even that is not a given.

Everyone will be pushing UGA hard for the East.

Hell, this year, Bama will be pushed hard kn the West.

Auburn may do the most pushing on both previously mentioned favs.

I'm glad we have Mizzou in The Cock Pit this season.

Should probably just focus on trying to beat Kentucky again. It’s been a few.

It's our top priority of the summer, followed closely by Aerosmith tickets

Return what many think will be the first QB taken in the draft.

This is a dogshit QB class coming up. It's similar to the one when EJ Manuel was the first one off the board

Yet, Kentucky has actually won the SEC in football.

Still hanging your hat on those empty trips to Atlanta? Have at it.

Not me.

I’m already on record a few months ago that the Mizzou game worries me. They play fast and seem to have figured things out the second half of the season last year.

They worry me more than any other team on our schedule.

While I think we have the potential to have a pretty good year, let's be honest, Mizzou is getting curb stomped in Tusc.

I think Bama wins, but it’s gonna be one of those games with a lot of scoring.

Something like 45-28.

Your offense will likely be good. Defense is what is questionable and makes people "sleep" on you

The two worst SEC games we've played have been against Bama and LSU. Physical teams and we shite down our legs. LSU wasn't even very good at the time.

Our prior scheme was just really bad against defenses with elite athletes. It was more about getting 1 on 1 matchups in space. It just didn't work. We'll see if the new system is more effective against better defenses.

The offense will be really good and probably the best in the SEC East. If Lock has improved his reads it might be the best in the SEC.

The questions Mizzou fans have is the coaching staff and defensive secondary. The last few years the secondary has hurt DL’s effectiveness.

The new kickoff rule will definitely help the offense more than any other team in the SEC. If you watched the team last year it was hard for Lock and the offense to be effective when starting inside the 10.

Most Mizzou fans think 8 to 9 wins would be good season. Playing our 3 hardest games in a row UGA, at USCe, and at Bama is tough. It could be 3 loses, but hopefully we win one of the games.

3 of the last 5 conference games will be against teams with new coaches, Vandy, and UK. If we win 4 of 5, our 4 non-conference games, and a bowl game it is should be around 8 to 10 win season.

Mizzou is not as talented as UGA and it would be a unbelievable upset if Mizzou won that game. It would have to be a high scoring game and UGA playing bad.
