...dumbasses.

Did y'all even read the fricking article? It doesn't say that Saban is 'GODLY COACH WHO IS THE BEAR INCARNATE' or any of that bullshite.

It simply says that Nick Saban has more influence and control over the football program than any other coach in the country.

That does not mean they think he is the best coach in the college game. Next time, you ignoramuses, learn the difference between 'best' and 'most powerful'.

That's probably not true, either. The guy is a second year coach. If he doesn't produce, even he will get fired just like everybody else.

Now Paterno.....he doesn't even need a contract! Bowden....he gets to decide when he steps out.

OK thanks for explaining this Mr. Obvious. I still disagree with him having the most influence.

If Nick Saban is fired from Alabama, I will eat my hat, and that's a promise. It just won't happen. Just look at the man's contract, he has Alabama by the balls.

Yes, they have the most power deciding when they leave. But do they get more involved in day-to-day activities like Saban does? Saban is a workaholic who is hyperfocused, and more than likely a control freak.

You put Saban on the cover of anything, link it to this board and you'll always get....

exactly the reaction this Forbes magazine got.

The article to me portrays dinky in a positive light due to his power and influence at Bama. At the same time, it makes (IMO) Bama look most definitely desperate and somewhat weak and/or pathetic. They had to give everything and more than any organization in football has ever had to give to one man. Bama was dictated the terms (kinda like in a peace treaty when a coutry surrenders) by a man who - coached a division rival a few years earlier, has a decent but somewhat questionable track record, and a questionable reputation.

What if ya'll go 6-6 again? What if 5 years down the line you still have zero SEC WEST titles? Shula was fired because he couldn't get Bama over the hump. If Saban can't do it, he will also be fired.

So...there are TONS of coaches that are like this. Is Pete Carroll unfocused? Does Mack Brown let the AD make his decisions for him? Seriously, this is stupid.

Sad for a once pround organization for one man who is certainly not the best at what he does to humble an organization and DICTATE EVERYTHING and how it is and will be. Saban says jump, Bama says how high.

If Pete Carrol didn't win the PAC-10 for five years, he'd probably be fired, too. It's not likely to happen, just as it's not likely for Alabama to not win the West once in 5 years.

Pete Carroll I would probably think is as focused as Saban, but I think using Brown's name was a bad move. I've always hear Brown is pretty lax and let's assistants and the like make decisions.

By the way, I'm just trying to tell these rantards that Forbes called him the most powerful rather than the best coach. It doesn't mean I agree with it.

A few more people than Alabama fans do. I'd say it's a pretty even split.

It sure looks like it in the SEC Rant...

You sure as hell better hope Bama doesn't get rid of Saban. If Saban goes, so does the Bama program. If Saban can't get it turned around, nobody can. I'm not saying Saban is the best coach, but if your program is in the dumps, Saban is probably one of the best at getting pointed in the right direction.

He is also capable of losing games that his teams should win. We learned that too frequently at LSU. Getting LSU to the promised land was a walk in the park. Easier. Bringing Alabama all the way back to the top of college football will be the equivalent of scaling Everest! The landscape in the SEC is light years apart from what it was in Alabamas "glory days".

Jesus Christ, I didn't say anything about his coaching ability! Do you make shite up all the time? All Forbes is saying is that Nick Saban has more control over his football program than any other coach in the nation.
