Yeah but against cupcakes. How many people are watching those games besides Bama fans who identify with their team as though they play on the team (which is almost all of them)?

None of those being regular season games.

LSU playing Vanderbilt at 11:00 Saturday also sucks. LSU should prevail but Vanderbilt is not a cupcake. It's more like a trap game. This is SEC against SEC. Should have been given a better slot.

How many times has LSU been on ESPNU or the alternative SEC Network at night? Bama gets the 11am kickoff because they bring the ratings. You can't put a cupcake game on at night on the main networks, so they'll squeeze them into the less desirable, but still on the big network, daytime slot.

Edit: Juts checked, just last season alone LSU had TWO games on ESPNU. Normally a program wouldn't want to appear on that channel, but obviously LSU has conceded that the trade off of more night games is better for them and the fans.

No one cares about watching Bama games anymore. That is the reality they live with now.

Obviously it's the opposite. And that's the problem. CBS gets first dibs and they do 2:30 games. They choose the Bama game more often than not, which leaves ESPN to air someone else at night.

Damn dude, those games you're pointing to were end of season games from last year.

Which kinda makes your argument plain stupid.

Meh, I don't blame LSU, but we played almost all of our September OOC games at 6 PM or later before SECN too.

Lets not pretend it is just one or two schools that did this. If you are playing football in the South in September you want that game to start late in the day. Preferably after the sun goes down.

I remember, back in the day, the 11 AM games were filled with either Big 10 or Big East games early in the season. The SEC would start sometime in the mid afternoon.

It isn't hard to see why. Just sitting in a stadium when it is 97 degrees out the and the humidity is higher then you get when you take a shower is a pain. Playing during those conditions is hell. It is why kiddie league sports that play when it is warm either start very early in the morning or in the evening.

Unfortunately we need to fill that 11 AM slot with our network and have a nice selection of afternoon games as well. People tend to tune in more in the afternoon or evening so you put your better games in that time slot. Alabama is a victim of their unappealing early season schedule. You will have that from time to time.

Bama is a victim of its own success. Too many blowouts so they get the shitty time slots. No one wants to watch Bama hang 40 on a scrub except Bama fans.

LSU just played a cupcake (Northwestern State) at home at night on the SEC Network. Do you seriously think many people besides avid LSU fans were watching that game?

Playing at night is tradition for us though. I'd think Alabama, who subject the entire league to a disjointed and unbalanced scheduling format just so they can continue to beat up on Tennessee every year, would understand.

I don't have any problem with LSU playing all night games as tradition.

I think you can swap Alabama/USM and Arkansas/SJSU or Alabama/NMSU and UTM/Florida once every few years.

Seems like a reasonable request.

NO! After decades of special treatment, the one time they are treated like all of the other teams in the SEC they lose their minds, cry and whine. GET OVER IT BUTTERCUP!

Seriously, can you guys not read?

It's getting confusing why you keep saying things that are in literal opposition to the facts

that's all fine and good, just don't bring our night games into this that's all.
