I'd rather have Manziel than Bridgewater. I'd rather have a lot of QBs in this draft over Bridgewater.

I think Houston will explore trading down a spot or two if there's another team that's eyeballing Bridgewater or Clowney.
McNair could trade down to #4 and still get both Clowney (at #4) and Mainziel (#26) if things went perfectly for Houston. That's provided #1, 2 and 3 all went for QBs or an OLineman.

I think the Texans take Clowney and get a second round QB, though.
Considering McNair's recent comments...that's a safe guess. I sure hope not though.

I thought they'd be falling for Manziel the closer we get to the draft
"Match made in Heaven" on paper, IMO but Clowney sure would be great in a Texans jersey opposite Watt meeting at the QB of the opponent IMO

He'd sell tickets and getting the local guy could be great for them. If I were Houston I'd trade down a little so they could get their guy a little later and an extra 2/3 rd pick

You really think Bridgewater will outperform Manziel at the combine, pro day, workouts, interviews, etc. or are you just butthurt?

I hope this is true. That would remove any temptation the jags would have at tacking him.

and Mainziel (#26)
Are you aware how many teams need a QB in this draft?

Who does he have the Falcons getting? Barr?
Kiper has Falcons getting Barr, McShay has Clowney.
Either way, they are going to be getting an elite defensive player.

When it comes to QB's taken in the 1st Rd, nothing is an outlandish prediction.
Enter Patrick Ramsey, JP Losman, Jake Locker, Christian Ponder, EJ Manuel, Chris Redmond, Blaine Gabbert, Brandon Weeden, Jason Campbell, Kyle Boller, Cade McNown, and the list goes on and on and on and on.........

Stupid frickers just had to win that redskins game, or they'd be drafting Matthews.

Let's not forget that Vince Young was a match made in heaven for the Texans as well and they weren't afraid to take Mario Williams. Anyone think Clowney is a possibility and teaming him up with Watt, then grabbing a QB in the 2nd/3rd?

I would. I like the 49ers approach. Strong running game and D, while the rest of the league spends their cash on QB's.

Trading down makes a lot more sense than taking him #1 overall, especially if as others have said you can land Clowney and a QB

He's an idiot if he thinks that.

Manziel is high risk, high reward. He's got a lot of bust potential. But if he succeeds, his marketability is through the roof. The Texans are doing well in Houston but really have gotten little traction outside the area. It might be worth the gamble for the franchise.
I'm honestly not sure what would be worse for the Texans, taking him and him busting or not taking him and him being successful elsewhere.

Winning sells tickets too.
