Seriously, between immigrants, DEI, and AI (SI) I believe I will be lucky to survive another decade in this workforce. I may just have to retire earlier than planned.

Yep we lived in Dallas for 23 years——most in Frisco. Thankfully we left 10 years ago. It’s one of the best decisions we ever made. We should have done it 20 years ago. Urban Texas is a lost cause. The Mid-Terms will show us if the State is a lost cause. I am not against diversity. I’m against failure to assimilate. You keep the language and the customs of the country you came from in the confines of your home. You adopt to the notion of E Plurubus Unum——Out of many one. Frisco is sickening, repulsive.

DEI says I am an evil white male. I am in an extremely desirable job and at the top of my field. These kids are definitely coming after my job, and they have skin color on their side. I am protected by management, but one day that management will retire. And then the bean counters will replace me with two or three of those "kids"

Fortunately, I am extremely good at what I do. I am speaking at a conference in Vegas week after next, for which I am really excited. I am the senior person on staff. But one of these days a bean counter will let me go.
It becomes a math equation. And AI has really changed the game for technical career fields.
It has already happened to some of my friends that have been doing this a long time. Former employees of Microsoft, HPE, Dell, and others. It is brutal in IT right now.
