The starting tight end who lead the team in receiving was not impactful?

No, dude. Nobody would describe Bauer Sharp as "impactful" in any positive way last year
And in what universe is a TE leading a team in receiving ever a good thing?

Is this a serious post?
When your slow TE who can’t block is your leading receiver that tells the story all by itself.

Losing Stutsman and Bowman for the bowl game will affect that greatly. There is a reason the line on this game went from OU -8.5 to Navy -1.5.

The hate on Sharp is ridiculous, he was the most ill-used player at OU this season. The coaches put him in position to fail WAY to many times. I can count at least 10 times they called plays that had him running horizontally behind the line of scrimmage.. I GAURANTEE LSU will not be doing that bullshite.

The only ones OU would want back are
Anderson if he is ever healthy and Mcollough and he doesn’t really have a position he can start at !

If he ends up starting for them, it just means their TE room is in worse shape than ours was.

Why can't the portal open up until the season is over?
Posted on 12/27/24 at 11:45 am to CharlotteSooner
Truth is funny sometimes, it was such pathetic play calling that you had to laugh or cry.

Can’t blame him not wanting to ever block on coaches buddy ….

Dude they tried to make Bauer Sharp happen all season long, often to hilarious results.

So glad he’s gone I don’t care if we have to play freshman tes… give me someone who is mentally there every play !

Arnold (QB) Sharp (TE) Walker (CB) Anderson (WR) Farooq (WR) Hester (WR) Anthony (WR) Thompson (WR) McCullough (LB/Cheetah)
One guy in that list was a decent player who wasn’t injured all year.
Other schools have training tables for all of those WR who couldn’t stay on the field.
Auburn is a good place for an overrated QB who has no feel for the game.

Auburn has figured out how to overcome this problem.

Navy has zero scholarships playing today so there’s that

where do these transfers go? i understand someone who is a stud freshman year leaving for greener pastures but most of the portal seems like this retarded game of musical chairs
Many don't end up anywhere, but I think that's mostly with the smaller schools.
The truth is you have to process about 15 players minimum every year if you want to keep a top level team. That will change with scholarship limits increases, but right now you need to drop your 15 worst every year in addition to the ones you will lose for other reasons like graduation, draft, injury etc. 25 X 5 = 125 vs the 85 possible scholarships. People gotta go somewhere.
Most transfers aren't really losses. It's just making way for better players.
2025 College Football Team Transfer Portal Rankings
I think in many ways ranking the teams here is silly because overall is what matters, but the important part is that you can see the average rating of the players lost and gained. That's what I use the page for. See who is improving and who is losing.
You can see most teams at the top have a higher average rating on the players gained than those lost.

Not enough players even after you paid them to play.
