The Grove is way too crowded these days, it was nowhere near that crowded 20 years ago and was much better

Potato chips and cheese cubes, man they really pulled out all the stops!

That looks so shitty. I can imagine a drunk freshman sorority girl puking over a family of 4. Nauseating.
I went to an ole miss game, and they didnt have uber. the taxi services ran out around 11pm, so I had to walk to my buddy's dorm about 2 miles in 30 degree weather. Once I got to dorm, they didnt allow me in because I wasnt a student. slept in my car.
what a great experience!

Walk of Champions? For whom? The last championship for Ole Miss was in 1963. Are any of those players still alive? Any former player would have to almost be an octagenarian.

Do they allow the bars to be open late hours yet? I haven’t been in years.
The bar I ran in Auburn we would get om students coming in at 7-8 o’clock bitching about how dead it was not realizing we stayed open until into the am.

Don’t you have to win something to be a champion?

Props.Very quaint . Like seeing a great triple A baseball game. The very best of the second tier.

I Agree!
ETA: why does ole Mrs fall over themselves to perpetuate the stereotype that they care much more about image (subjective rankings in irrelevant lists) than substance (actually being competitive in something, anything, that matters)?

Your whole scene is devoid of music, food, and good looking women with respect to Oxford even with the advantage of a larger student body. T-Town is so far superior. I have been to your campus. I will say it is beautiful. I will say your town is pretty also. Stadium was legit SEC. Your bar, music and food scene is worse than Starkville.

Most bars have bands. The bar I ran had bands like d trucks pgroove among others
Auburn has a James beard finalist and several restaurants written up in magazines. Including a recent article written in southern living about Auburns restaurant scene.
Your argument is devoid of cognitive thought…

We have two TWO James Beard award WINNERS. Trust me. Don’t google Oxford’s restaurant scene or music scene and compare it to Auburn’s. Your feeling will be hurt.

Just pointing out your idiotic comment.
Hate to break to you about music scene they all use the same bands in the southeast. Come from the same few booking agencies.
Sorry your feelings got hurt about the shitty tailgate fare comment

Well I was just pointing out your idiotic comment also. And then you double down and say our tailgates are shitty. You can read I assume so look it up about our tailgates if you have never been. You will also be disappointed there in respect to Auburn’s tailgates with national write ups. Just responding to shots fired as you did.
For the record I am a musician and agree with you about bands touring all around the SEC. That is true. However, we have a rich musical history of music here that routinely played here because they lived here. Also we have venues and recording studios that have hosted too many greats to name here. Certainly way more than anything that has ever come out of Auburn, Alabama.

Looks like it would be fun every once in a while I guess but it looks super crowded and somewhat pretentious. More of a social event where people are going to be seen and not necessarily just to hang out and have a blast.
Ideal tailgate for me starts with a smoker filled with a variety of meats that have been going all night. You need a variety of grub from quick stuff to sides for the BBQ on a nice long spread. Gumbo is also ideal, the key is having variety of quality food to choose from.
You need multiple coolers. One with water. Another with Gatorade/Soft Drinks. Then at least 3 with different types of beer and/or a keg or two. Nice to have some wine or other crap for the women. Need to have a bar with a variety of liquors but most of all bourbon and vodka with a lot of mixers.
Then you need plenty of room to spread out and have at least 3 tents. One for the food. One for people just to hang under for shade/rain. Another set up with the TV/Satellite with other games on and a set of chairs to sit in along with plenty of room to wander by. Bonus points for a 2nd setup so you can have 2 games on.
Then you need at least 2 different games set up and one needs to be a custom cornhole. Horseshoes are fine if you have the right set up but that can be limiting. Need room to throw the football of course.
Pretty much none of that is possible at a place like the Grove. To me the dream tailgate is an A&M/LSU combo with cajun food and BBQ combined and the alcohol is flowing like Niagara and some friendly smack talk but mainly everyone just having a great time.
