Yea but why would a mighty baseball program like Texas with all of their “support and resources” want to settle on a baseball coach as average as Vitello is?
I am just trying to understand why a bigwig baseball program like Texas would even begin to consider a classless, natty-less clown like Vitello obviously is according to everyone here on the SEC rant who doesn’t cheer for Tennessee.

You make a solid point

Of course I do!
Tony Vitello simply isn’t “good enough” to be coveted by mighty Texas baseball!

I think Vitello is a good coach, he's just being held back by the limitations of his program.
It's like how Bear Bryant and Gene Stallings won natties at Bama but nothing at A&M.

Who said he was first choice?

I know you're trolling but most of the Vitello hate I've seen is always coming from LSU fans. I have wanted him for 2 years. Lack of national titles be damned.
Baseball championships require great teams and a lot of luck. He's proven he can consistently put together great teams utilizing the portal and high school recruiting. I believe he'll break through sooner than later.

Maybe Vitelli isn’t what he thinks he is.
Maybe Texas isn’t either.

I hate Texas and would still donate big money to this if I was loaded just to see the Tenn melt.

Everybody hates TEXAS
Everybody hates VITELLO
I call these scenarios ones where I can neatly package my hate.
Like Roy Williams to UNC.
Or Franchione to A+M.
Or Calipari to UK.

The highest paid coach in the SEC makes around $1.7 million, and you think Texas is going to reset the market for coaches salaries in a sport in which they lose money?
Yeah, don't you remember when they paid Saban $15 million a year to replace Mack Brown, which was double the amount he was making at Alabama as the highest paid coach?
Oh wait.
This is the thing about Texas, they will always claim they got the money, but they never spend it. They gonna pay their baseball coach $3 million and they only pay their football coach $5 million?
I'll believe it when I see it.

Sark got a raise and is up to 9 or 10 now.

Now you're talking market value for making the playoffs in a sport that produces an enormous amount of revenue for the school. Brian Kelly makes $10 million a year. And Sark's initial contract with Texas was for $5.8 million. They didn't break the bank to hire him.
OP is talking about doubling the average salary for baseball coaches in a sport that either loses money at most schools, or produces a slight profit at the LSUs of the world. It's a troll.

The melt from Vol fans will be glorious.
They’re so inexperienced and ignorant on success that they don’t even know what a real melt feels like.
Sad. Pathetic. We must pity our brothers. They are Clemson and Georgia fans without the championships. And they will stay that way.

Only after he had a decent season.
I think it would be funny if Tennessee lost their coach, but all I see is the same old Texas rumor crap that never comes true.

I don't see anyone from Texas's side pushing this rumor. I think it's a remote possibility at best.

It will be similar to LSU's coaching search.
Tennessee fans will claim Vitello rejected Texas even though there were no credible sources who even linked the two.
Texas will hire some third party guy that no one even mentioned and people will blast the hire.

Not even that. Dudes set at UT no reason to go to TU.

Just depends on what he wants out of a job.
It's foolish to pretend that Tennessee is allocating equal resources to baseball that Texas does.
