Some are complaining about the neutral site games over on MSB. Thinking Wisconsin got the better end of the deal. If you were an AD, President, or Commissioner would you agree to this opening weekend schedule between the 2 leagues?

Split the gates, revenue, profits 50/50

Soldier Field Michigan vs Tennessee
Lucas Oil Indiana vs Kentucky
Lambeau Wisconsin vs UGA
MetLife Rutgers vs MS State
Heinz Penn St vs Vandy
US Bank Minnesota vs Auburn
FedEx Maryland vs South Carolina

NRG aTm vs Northwestern
SuperDome LSU vs Iowa
GeorgiaDome tOSU vs Alabama
AT&T Arkansas vs Nebraska
Nashville Ole Miss vs Michigan St
Raymond James Florida vs Illinois
Arrowhead Mizzou vs Purdue

That is 14 games to be spread out from Thursday night until Monday Night. Both conferences would make a killing at the gate, in advertising, and just be the talk of the sporting world. Drawback is you lose a home game and you have to travel first game of the year.

Some of the story lines if it would have happened this year.

Lovie going back to Tampa
Franklin faces old team
Harbaugh going to back to Chicago
Rematch of a great playoff game
Who is the better conference

Yuck. Would much rather be playing UCLA home and home like we are. If we are playing at a neutral site make it somewhere cool we won't get to see again, like Lambeau or Soldier Field or something

And if I'm the commissioner no, I'm not dictating to each member who they need to play. You would have to do this years far in advance to make it work. This weekend was great with a bunch of diverse matchups and locations

You know reason I put Northwestern there was because of predictions from magazines

Yes I know needed be done year in advance

I think it's coming to this eventually where commissioner forces games. Money talks

Hell no. I'm sick of the damn neutral site games. Screws you out of a home game.

I like it. I could imagine ESPN and/or a beer company putting up big bucks to make that sort of a challenge happen.

My proposal:

We take all the P5 schools and also the top 8-10 teams from the other conferences.

The NCAA then purchase one of those big lottery ping pong ball machines. Each team gets their own ping pong ball.

On the 4th of July we have a huge lottery to make pairings for the 1st games of the season.

Think how much more exciting the offseason would be.

I also see zero negative logistical issues with this plan. Seriously, none. How hard could it be to get one of those ping pong ball machines?

ETA: Serious note- I would love to see all the top schools / conferences have some type of conference challenge like you mention. This year SEC plays BIG10, maybe next year the Pac 12, etc.

Nah, we already got Florida State to open up the new Falcons Stadium next year.

And, as a team that plays one of these games every daym year, I'm beyond tired of them. Even when they are played 7 miles down Peachtree from me.

have to be a home/home series, wouldn't it? ... not sure teams would want to tie themselves up for 2 years with each other ... i'm getting tired of the neutral site games myself, but the advantage is you get more flexibility each year ...

Why because it might end up like last time they played?

No, they don't really. It's a great kickoff to your season, if you win.

I think the Texas-ND showed that we should definitely go back to having marquee OOC games at home. DKR was rocking that night.

For basketball. Not football. The stadium would be 3/4 empty.
