re: Chicken wing sauce

My wife bought me a bottle of Japanese barbecue sauce from Red Stick Spice that I plan to soon use on wings. It's savory, not sweet at all, and has some heat....

Hell, I'm not a Bush fan by any means, but Greedy Fly is just a great sounding record. He really knew how to make guitars and drums sound good. ...

He was talking shite about the Rolling Stones and Trump on social media yesterday.
I read somewhere today that he had a heart attack years ago.
He made some great albums. Rid of Me and In Utero are two of them. Just basic, hard hitting records

It helps to have a really good GM. I look at them as being the model for what the Pelicans should do if Zion forces a trade. Of course, "getting a young superstar in a trade" and "having a really high draft pick when there's an excellent big man available" aren't things that can easily be duplicated...
re: How is Cheba Hutt?

It's OK. In terms of chains, it's way better than Firehouse or Jason's Deli, not as good as Jersey Mike's. Like some other folks said, if it was closer to work or my house, I would probably eat there more. ...
Some of the other shows you listed were in the Centrolplex as well, but your list gives a good indication of the cool shows that used to pass through BR back in the day. I'll also add that REM played at The Bayou on Chimes Street in 1982.
The Sex Pistols played at the Kingfish in 1...

I think he did start a little early - maybe 5 minutes, not 10
I kinda thought they were going to do “Rockin’ in the Free World” as an encore. ...

re: Doc Rivers, the greatest NBA coach ever has been eliminated, yet again.

People used to rag on Lenny Wilkens for being an overrated coach, but he never wasted the kind of talent year in and year out that Doc does. ...

They also used to have concerts in the Union Theater, but that stopped after the Red Hot Chili Peppers played there in the mid-80s and people tore out seats and trashed the joint. ...

A friend of mine managed the Union newsstand in the mid-90s. He said when Radiohead were opening for REM, Thom Yorke dropped by and bought a New York Times and a pack of gum. ...

I think Pink Floyd played the PMAC during the Animals tour. And I had a high school teacher whose husband talked about working security for an Earth Wind and Fire show.
There's a photo that pops up on social media of 70s era Elton John rocking a feather boa, wild sunglasses and an LSU baseball cap...
re: Classic Jim Harden playoff game alert
Posted by timbo on 5/2/24 at 4:43 pm
You know Harden will really stink up the joint in the next game, since it's the deciding game of the series. I predict he'll score 8 points, and be in the VIP area of the club 35 minutes after the whistle blows. shite, he may duck into the showers with 5 minutes left on the clock. ...
re: How misguided were kids when they chose grunge over hair metal?
Posted by timbo on 5/1/24 at 10:18 pm
There’s a real good oral history of hair metal - “Nothin’ But a Good Time” - that talks about how the genre killed itself with too many bad bands. Things started to dip around 1990 - that’s when ticket and record sales dipped for some of the second tier bands like Cinderella and Ratt.
Hair metal a...
