If they do away with the permanent rivalries, CFB is officially dead. I cannot imagine a year without the DSOR or the Iron Bowl

I can. auburn needs Bama to stay relevant. Bama doesn't need them. I'd rather play anyone else than let them get a sure national televised game and unwarranted attention by riding our coat-tails. Rivalry games should not be a thing. All teams and games should be rotated. Its also not fair some teams get cupcake rivalries.

Other than Tennessee/Vandy, who gets a cupcake rivalry game?

Bama offered little competition prior to Saban. Just because he was there doesn't mean they won't return to their usual now that he's gone. Passing in the big 12 with a Heisman candidate at QB isn't the same as coaching in the sec. Ask Bert about rolling through the Big 10.

Bama has had this same philosophy with all state schools bc they know if one of them beats Bama, Bama just becomes another school in this day. As soon as Harsin 2.0 show weakness everyone wont even pay Bama anymore attention. They are supposed to be so great but basically have a split record with old sorry Auburn as it is.

Just remember this when Bama turns average now that everyone can buy recruits. Yall's god got out of town when it started because he knew what Bama was about to become and he didn't want to be outted. It's not coincidence.

If only there was a way to confirm your statement.

All time series 50-37-1 Alabama.

Results by decade since 1950.

1950s 5-5 tie
1960s 8-2 Alabama
1970s 8-2 Alabama
1980s 6-4 Auburn
1990s 7-3 Alabama
2000s 7-3 Auburn
2010s 6-4 Alabama
2020s 4-0 Alabama

Since 1950 Alabama leads 45-29.

Nick Saban was 12-5 against Auburn. It you remove his record Alabama still leads.

Auburn only has a winning record in two decades.

Between Bryant and Saban Auburn only posted a 14-10 record against Alabama.

Your statement is false.

You forgot Bama/Vandy

You know when times get tough for Alabama, Vanderbilt is going to start appearing on their schedule every year.

These games are as old as the SEC and should NEVER go away

Per google LSU has played Mississippi State 117 times, that’s just a couple of games less than the Ole Miss/State series.

Further, LSU has played 112 games against Ole Miss, more times than Bama/Tenn (106) and UGA/Florida (101).

Just asking, should these games also never go away?

Alabama has not been nearly as dominant against Vandy as some other programs

Alabama all-time record and winning percentage against SEC (30 meetings minimum):

Kentucky 39-2-1. 93%
Mississippi State 86-18-3. 84%
Ole Miss 55-10-2. 82%
Arkansas 24-8-0. 75%
Vandy 60-19-4. 72%
Florida 27-14-0. 65%
LSU 56-27-5. 64%
Georgia 43-26-4. 59%
Auburn 50-37-1. 57%
Tennessee 59-39-7. 56%

Yeah, I am sure everyone would choose to play Alabama over Auburn. Sure.

I didn't say just to Auburn. I said it as a top team. Bama is hit or miss aside from 2 coaches.

If you take every school's top 2 coaches away, Bama still has more success then everyone else in college football with the possible exception of Notre Dame.
