offense...more fun to watch.

I do like watching teams like A&M and the Gus bus on O. But great defenses are fun to watch as well. A great D can stop the other team and score points.

Defense wins games but offense is more entertaining.

Offense for me.

Idk if my heart could handle getting to the title on just offense like yall in 2010. Every game I'd be on the ledge
It's not so bad, man.

Who am I kidding... I was on edge during every game. I can't believe I'm still alive.

Yeah, but I'm always waiting for the other team to get around the D. A couple bad plays on O and you can still do good things.

Couple bad plays on D and you can really lose a game, especially with a weak O.

After the past few years, I'm tempted to say offense.

I prefer a good defense.

The only thing Tommy Tuberville hated more than Auburn scoring points was the other team scoring points

This is true. Why he went to ttech ill never know.

Offense. It's easier to outscore someone with a great offense than to hold them to less than 14 points every game.

Fair assumption. Some are mad at the coaches, many at some of the units, but in general even if people aren't all that mad they are still incredibly disappointed with what happened.

0-2 you will have smoke

1-3 and you will see blood

Great Defense.

It's no secret that a great Defense has keyed Bama's 3 of 4 NC's....

Their whitewash of LSU was beautiful.

Well I guess in our case, I would say we need a great D, and way better LBs. The standard has fallen and hit rock bottom at the LB position.

I also wouldn't mind some of that SEC speed.

Exxxactly

I am sure in retrospect those games are incredible to look back on and it makes for a helluva highlight tape but I know during the season yall were sweating bullets constantly.

Maybe it's because I have now become conditioned to the notion that if it's close we are fricked and even if we are up by 10 in the 3rd I should worry. If we had that many games go like that idk what I'd do with myself. That being said, georgia is kinda doing the same thing only opposite. it's almost impressive.

I see Pinkel and Richt as similar coaches. Obviously, Richt was one of the finalists when Mizzou hired Pinkel, but they seem like similar coaches.

Is Richt just Pinkel with better backyard talent? Able to build a program, but unable to win the big games?

Not a flame, a real question. I always wonder what could have been if we'd have hired Richt instead of Pinkel.

I don't see it as a flame. It's just a complicated thing to answer. Richt when he first got here completely revolutionized Georgia football. The reason our expectations are even back to where LSU, Bama and co have them is because he brought us back. He's a fantastic figurehead, a good guy, and we usually don't have to worry about the NCAA coming by.

Worst thing that ever happened to Mark Richt was the hiring of Urban Meyer and Nick Saban. The SEC arms race kinda began to outpace Richt and suddenly his style of coaching is now in the past. It took him a while to adjust. His faults really are undying loyalty to assistants, continued issues in discipline both on and off the field, and preparing for the big game.

It's not like he sucks, I mean he is still a top tier coach. It's just literally once every other blue moon that he and his staff EVER out coach the other guy. Even in games we win it seems more about talent. He's a good recruiter but he even seems to whiff on the major battles there. He's fine in the group but head to head is where he wavers.

It's my opinion that if he were in the ACC (examples I have always used and other fans I have talked to have used), or the Big 12, he'd likely have been even more successful than he has in Athens. It just sucks for him that he's in the SEC and he's coaching against Sabans and Spurriers as opposed to Fishers and Dabos. And shite, he can't even seem to get after the Dabos of the world now.

Cliff notes: He's good, not great, and as an irrational Georgia fan that drives me nuts.
