If he threw footballs at them then probably.

It would be hard for anyone to justify keeping a coach after he physically abuses players.

What would Saban be saying in practice that he doesn't already say when he verbally abuses the sportswriters?

Same question for you. Does this apply to just coaches, or should all university staff be allowed to get students to "man up"?

The only things that can get Saban fired is being found in bed with either a dead woman or a live boy.

I wouldn't want him fired. I'm not positive Rice should've been fired either.

Miles wouldn't do that to his players.

The language did bother this former player

If he wasn't winning then yea of course he would have to change his ways or be fired but since he wins no one cares.

No one has answered you because your question was fricking dumb.

English teachers aren't coaching students to play a contact sport that top male athletes play at the highest speed and intensity.

My PE teacher in high school used to hum basketballs at us when we weren't looking because he thought it was funny. He just recently won a 5A state championship in baseball as Head Coach. No one cares until there's one pussy in the crowd who wants to be fake offended.

I think the basketballs are what did him in, not the other. the verbal stuff would have just been internal punishment

This.

Other than blindside basketballs to the head and various other parts, he didn't really do anything not done by a majority of coaches.

I do think it was bogus he got fired after the political pressure started. Whether I agree with the AD's initial decision or not, I can't say I am a fan of changing a punishment without a change of evidence.

I agree. There were a few shoves that were a little unnecessary and a few things he said out-of-bounds. I would have agreed with a short suspension for those. The basketball throwing was the key issue. That's actually dangerous, especially when it is thrown at a kids head

I would hate to see Alabama ever become that soft. To fire a coach for hurting players feelings during a practice?
That's just weak. Saban knows there is a line a coach doesn't cross.
He won't and he'll always be know as a bad arse coach.

I was actually thinking of starting a similar thread on the Alabama board this morning....but yeah I'd personally want him fired.

Has anyone on ESPN or any talking head for that matter stuck up for the coach?

I don't think so...I really don't believe anyone has said ANYTHING positive about him...which I honestly don't see how you could say anything positive about him lol.....Does the idiot not realize his practices are taped?

He grabs them, calls them everything etc. I dont know if he throws footballs at them though.

Naaah, they'd just build another statue, but this time with bulging veins, zipper down and Emmert kneeling.
