Trying to play when players or coaches test positive and then everybody around them has to isolate for two weeks has little chance of succeeding. Just don't see it happening. But you Baws keep hope alive as Jesse would say.

I hope they do just to show the same amount of players will test positive next year and the year after and everyone will realize we overreacted for jonreason.

The radical Left wants to destroy all activities, traditions and cultural icons enjoyed and celebrated by mainstream Americans. Football, especially college football, is one of the most visible forms of bonding and celebration for conservative males. Therefore, it must be destroyed. This has nothing to do with the Chinese Flu other than that is the mechanism by which they can destroy it.

ETA: Hard to believe there are actually 8 dumbasses on here who disagree with this. It’s as plain as day.

If college sports cant be played, colleges and universities should not be held on campus.

They'll get all the students back to campus with the promise of F2F instruction, then bait and switch them into "hybrid classes" which means students will only attend once a week or once every other week. About six weeks into the semester when enough people have had contact with a confirmed positive, campuses will be effectively online again. But this time, they won't close down the dorms and send everyone home. They can't withstand the financial hit.

I don't want to see the season canceled but players will test positive all throughout the season and anyone exoposed to that player will be forced to quarantine by the state health dept. There is no avoiding the virus. And there's no avoiding the quarantine rule. Every state will enforce the rule at every college.

I'm optimistic by nature but I don't see any way of playing football until a vaccine is found.

Why would you put the odds at less than 50%?

Kids are campus, Universities are spending time and money (likely in unnecessary amounts) on new protocols, procedure, polices...the big P's you know, whatever.

Parents want kids out of their houses, kids want to be out of their parents' houses, everyone loves football, the people who play football love the people who love football..maybe even the sport. It's economically viable and people are ready to live again.

We're gonna kick off and if you so choose to participate then that is your right.

Sorry - but that's just not true. The decision is not up to the players, coaches, or fans. The Governor (with advice from the State Health Department) in every state will make these decisions. So, no matter what the NCAA wants to do every state will have their own rules and make their own decisions.

I thought Covid was rough on people 70+ or in bad physical condition. The players are 18-22 yrs old and in supreme physical condition.

Are there stories of the players at Clemson being deathly ill, or more like a cold?

Risk matters. If we were talking about folks in a nursing home I'd agree. But not young men who are strong.

If our leaders were smart (which they are not), the debate would be about fans in the stands. Not players on the field.

you still don't get it.

You’re not seriously saying age doesn’t mean much with COVID are you?

I’m not making a statement on what should happen, but literally every medical body and every data set available says age means A LOT with COVID outcomes.

Can young people die with, yes. But the odds of someone under 30 dying from COVID are extremely minuscule in comparison with people over 60.

Tell that to the parents of the 4 yr old who passed away not long ago around here.

Some of you people are just dense. So tell me what the consequences are going to be for these under 30 who get it 5 years/10 years/15 years down the road?

People die everyday. A 4 yo has a better chance of dying from the flu.
Not to say people young and old will not die of the China flu.

You’re being ridiculous. I’m not claiming football should or shouldn’t happen. People smarter than me have to figure it out.

I’m simply saying it is 100% anti-science to say “age doesn’t mean much with COVID”

The data is overwhelming that age is a massive massive factor in how deadly this disease is.

Saying that you know a 4 year old that died so my point is wrong is silly. It’s be like if someone said “seven foot tall people are rare” and I responded with “TELL THAT TO MY NEIGHBOR, HES SHAQUILLE ONEAL SO YOURE WRONG”

Again, not saying football games should happen, not saying this disease isn’t serious, tragic, and deadly. Just saying age is absolutely a huge part of COVID impacts people. If you argue with that you’re not disagreeing with me, you’re disagreeing with the entire medical community.

Not trying to make anyone look stupid, just making my point. I did it without calling names. You didn’t. I’m sorry if numbers trigger you.

Facts don’t care about your feelings.
