I haven’t read through this thread but I’m with you OP. I’m just not seeing Bama playing USC on September 5th. It’s not realistic at this point in time. As of now I’m just hoping for an eight game SEC season.

The mortality rate keeps dropping and dropping. You can't keep scaring people forever.

The only virus in history where age doesn't matter. I'll tell my doctor about this new virus where your health condition and age don't matter, I'm sure they will publish an award winning paper on it.

The only reason they will cancel the season is if the lawyers tell the administrators the legal liability exposure is too significant.

This is not true at all...my company handles all of the wellness related patient data and the truth is it’s highly contagious but very low mortality rate. Lower than the flu.

So, some will react to Covid and some will not. If you feel compromised, stay home but that is your decision. Other people who want to be out about, that is their decision and not yours to make.

Look at all cases with just football back on campus
Wait till entire student body comes back
How do you control 30000 students with testing protocol every single day

Too much money at stake. NCAA will do anything to salvage what they can of this season.

Are there stories of the players at Clemson being deathly ill, or more like a cold?

Not even like a cold. They have no symptoms at all and feel completely normal/healthy.

They were only tested because they are on the football team.

Every football player case I've seen reported thus far has been asymptomatic. They were only tested because they are football players, not because they were sick.

It's almost as if you people are actively rooting for football to be cancelled

Every administrator, coach, NCAA is holding their breath that there isn’t a hospitalization or death among the players and staff. The first time anyone connected to a team ends up critically ill, it’s game over. And it’s not as easy as it sounds. The coaches and medical staff aren’t teenagers. I hope and pray it doesn’t happen, but it’s a long time until September.

And speaking of that, what about officials? Who is going to call the games? Those guys aren’t spring chickens either.

I think there’s at least some hoping that an effective treatment is found, even before there is a vaccine. And everyone is pinning hopes on a vaccine by the end of the year or the first quarter of 21.

If they can have current live EPL games why can't we have the same over two months from now? If players, coaches, or fans are at risk, stay home.

There's a decent chance that they might be forced under the pressure of media and what not to end face to face unless things are looking fine.

Right now I still expect most colleges to try face to face. Whether it sticks is another question.

There are a lot more students in college towns than just football players. There are also a lot of other people in those towns too. If this keeps up the football teams will pretty much have immunity built up by September.

No it's not.

That's like saying the next time someone gets killed or paralyzed from a football play then football will be canceled.

Who the frick invented this 0 risk world some of you are promoted?

The NCAA is not in control anymore. The MOB is in charge. Not sure why some of you don't understand.
