Heupel will be OU’s coach. Just a matter of time.

I dont think he would leave. It's gonna be impossible to recruit kids to OU pretty soon.

If so, Kirby Smart would snatch up Venables in a heartbeat
Dabo would take him back with open arms before Kirby got the chance. FWIW, Venables still has his place on lake Hartwell.

Sigh, only a vol could ask me to prove something I never said.

I hope not. I'd like to see Heupel stay at Tennessee.
Bold statement considering he’s beaten Bama 2 out of the last 3.

LSU also beat them 2022, and Vandy also beat them this year.
If Alabama was playing great football and you were winning, my opinion would be different. What I saw Saturday was not a great football team on either side of the field.

I don't think that will happen. OU just hired Duke's old coach so he should have them playing championship ball in no time flat.

If you're going to use a generic statement in response to a comment about a specific coach, it only makes sense that you think that would apply to whoever the original comment was about as well.
Being a football coach is a pretty good gig. Maybe that generic statement exists because generally coaches are pretty happy doing something they are passionate about and making millions of dollars. Its obvious Napier isn't the most chipper guy in the world right now. Jimbo wasn't either in his last days. At least show me something about Heupel, otherwise your comment is just pointless.

I don't see it. Tennessee is putting a lot more money in NIL than OU. That's the most important thing these days. It's not tradition, alma mater, wins, academics, facilities.

I stand by the following.
Most fans claim their guy is happy at his current job when things are going well.
There is nothing to prove or disprove. It’s an observation based on experience.
It’s an innocuous position and very reasonable.

No. I know my limitations. Give me UGA, UF, Bama and let me run them completely into the ground and utilize my golden parachute.
It’s not as simple as being his dream job. The AD screwed him over hard. And the new AD just did the same thing to a friend of his. You just don’t go back to that. He’s moved on, he’s happy, well cared for and appreciated in Knoxville. He gets to hire who he wants, any and all support he could want, an amazing NIL machine, is working for the best AD in the business, and has the support of the other head coaches at UT.
Dreams change as you get older and sometimes you learn Gods greatest gift can be unanswered prayers.

Then you could have said "I like puppies" or "I like chocolate" and contributed just as much to the conversation

Yes OU would hire him and yes he would go …. It doesn’t matter though no one is getting fired even if we lose every sec game this season. Venables made a bad OC choice , he’s got the defense rolling again with new elite talent coming each year . We have elite young OL last class and this class . Wrs will come back at some point and 1-2 years down the line we may be a pretty good team. Just have to hit the right OC hire at seasons end. If not in 2025 or 2026 Vemables will be gone. Riley really depleted the team and he’s still picking up the offensive pieces.

This is what you people are reduced to? I mean, I get it. You see the train bearing down on you. You see Tennessee becoming a juggernaut. You see 10 or 20 years of Tennessee domination.
And this is the only way out, your only hope.
I get it. The fear is undeniable.
