I thought that was his dad, but I stand corrected.
It was his mom. A former OU player/Heupel's teammate wore UT colors on OU's sideline during our game because he wanted to honor a promise he made to Heupel's mom.

I believe we have already answered this. No. No reason to. No benefits to Josh to do so.
We all say the mind games OU was playing and how they reacted to the gift of not running up the score on them. The admin is still garbage at OU while the Vols AD is full spectrum elite, best in the country, not up for debate.

Guess we'll just disagree. Mike Stoops was given the same job he had before he left for Arizona: co-defensive coordinator with Venables.
Whatever the case, I believe the circumstances preclude Oklahoma from offering the head coaching job to Heupel – at least not at this time. Venables will be given at least two more years to get the program back on track. If he doesn't, we'll re-visit this topic.

Ok, then show me any proof otherwise? If you disagree with my statement then surely you have some kind or reasoning.

Brent was demoted. He didn't leave for the fun of it.

He left because he wanted to.

No, how many times is this gonna be asked?
Posted on 10/21/24 at 10:19 am to scrybe
No he didn't.
Did you even listen to his final radio appearance before he left?
Have you even read a single interview with him about his departure after he left?

Stars won't line up for that to happen. If OU comes open it will be in a year or 2 and we will be further behind the 8 ball. Josh has it rolling at Tenn, just silly to leave. I get the "He loves his school", but he's rightfully jaded. Josh will get a raise tho. You're welcome Josh.
Now, 10 years from now, Josh wins a couple at Tenn and OU comes open, and he wants a big challenge/save his school etc...., but again why leave Tenn.

They will take him….its gonna really hurt the Tennessee guys on this board, but unfortunately OK is the easier job.

I don’t need to post proof. The burden lies with the person that made a declaration.
But, once you stop taking that innocuous statement personally you can admit that every fan base says this about their coach.
I’ve never heard of a fan of a school were the coach is doing well say “ he doesn’t seem happy here”.

Why would he abandon the four years worth of hard work that he has built here to go rebuild what soon may become a dumpster fire?
Besides playing ball there, there's nothing logically indicating he would go.
Especially with Stopps always lurking in the background.

Obviously he's an OU man but I don't think he'd take it. There's way too much of a chance to fall on your face there, seeing as he's built UT into what they are right now.
He may leave for the NFL but I don't think a lateral move to OU, with a program that's going to be in the shitter, is enough to make him jump.

I hope not. I'd like to see Heupel stay at Tennessee.

Lane Kiffin went back to his "dream job" as he went back to USC .......
You see how that turned out?
Now he is more than interested to build his own legacy.

Florida doesn't have many fans on here, but the level of dumb per capita is probably as high or higher than any other fanbase in the SEC

If so, Kirby Smart would snatch up Venables in a heartbeat (or at least try to). Somebody's going to get Schumann away from us so we need to be ready.
I'd be okay with this. I imagine Venables is itching to play with top-tier talent again.

Maybe. Maybe not.
OU just scapegoated a co captain from Josh’s title team and fired him less than a year into being the OC. With a three time rebuilt Oline, his 5th and 6th string WRs and 2 freshmen QBs.
That’s who OU is. And they just reminded the world of it.

Y’all wish. Tennessee is a better job at this point on top of all the other things that OU did to him. He probably could have had the job a few years ago if he wanted it
