Would Freddie Kitchens be considered a good coaching candidate for Arkansas or MSU?

Things aren’t going well with his first season as a head coach at Cleveland and has minimal head coaching experience. However he would be a recognized name. His SEC ties include he played QB at Bama, assistant under Saban at LSU and coached at Mississippi State.

As coach:

Glenville State (1999) Running backs coach & tight ends coach

LSU (2000) Graduate assistant

North Texas (2001–2003) Running backs coach

Mississippi State (2004–2005)
- Tight ends coach (2004)
- Running backs coach (2005)

Dallas Cowboys (2006) Tight ends coach

Arizona Cardinals (2007–2017)
- Tight ends coach (2007–2012)
- Quarterbacks coach (2013–2016)
- Running backs coach (2017)

Cleveland Browns (2018–present)
- Associate head coach & running backs coach (2018)
- Offensive coordinator (2018)
- Head coach (2019–present)

Cleveland is a terrible franchise.

Kitchens was one of the toughest QB's we ever had.

He needs to stop being so tough at the dinner table.

You should quit your job delivering pizzas and go pro on the comedy club tour.

Enh, he does still have a bit of a name in the South but he hasn't coached in college for a while. We really need someone who can go out and find more warm bodies for our team.

He might do better at State, they have a bit more talent to work with already on the team and if he can tap into that JUCO system that could keep him going until he has his recruiting skills up to par.

I'll pass. One of my favorite MSU memories was seeing our win @ bama in '97. We had 5 sacks and Freddie would pick himself up off of the turf and hold his arm and shoulder while he looked over at the sidelines pleading for a substitution.

Kitchens offense sucks with a heisman QB and some of the best receivers in the NFL. Imagine what he could do with State's offensive talent

It all boils down to if Kitchens could recruit at Arkansas. I don't know but I kind of doubt it. And for the record he was a fat for a qb and we made fun of him for it ourselves. He could from time to time, rumble for a first down. But he should have gotten a delay of game flag when he scrambled.
