Exactly. No undefeated teams. OSU was the only one-loss major team. LSU (SEC Champ), VA Tech (whom LSU slaughtered earlier in the year), and Georgia (who didn't make the SEC championship) all had 2 losses. We beat Ohio State in the BCS title game and will always be 2007 NC.
BTW, Alabama was "gifted" an appearance in the 2011 BCS Championship game.

LSU is not winning out so discussion is a waste of time.

Yes, LSU just needs to take it one game at a time - new coach and the team is pretty inexperienced. However, I'm encouraged by how the team is progressing.

You know that isn't true. Bama was clearly at worst the second best team in America. Iowa St would've been destroyed by most of the SEC in 2011.

Lsu will probably make the playoffs and nobody else from the sec. if another sec team makes the playoffs it would have to be whoever lsu beat in the conference championship, I would think

Yes. Wins over Bama, Georgia or Tennessee would give the tigers at least the 4 seed.

Yeah but... I doubt it. Even if we can somehow beat Bama I think Tenn. just has too much firepower for us. The best-case scenario for LSU is a wild win vs Bama and a loss in the SECCG. 10-3 and a Sugar Bowl birth.

Exactly. It's going to take some chaos for LSU to even be considered for one of the top 4 spots.

That’s just stupid talk.

quote:Actually no, there are scenarios where this is not true. Geogia beats Tenn but loses to UK. UGA would be out with 2 loses and 1 loss Tennessee gets in with 1 loss and haven beaten the SEC champ earlier.

With that logic, if ole miss beats bama they could get in the playoffs too?
Posted on 10/24/22 at 3:37 pm to aTm boy
Highly doubtful. They would still take the entire season into account and we have a loss to an FSU team that may end up with a poor record. Couple that with a blow out loss to Tennessee.
it would take some steroid induced 2007ish stuff. And there may not be enough season left for that.

Absolutely not. Just because LSU was gifted a BCS Championship game appearance that they didn’t deserve in 2007 doesn’t mean it will happen again.
Pot calling the kettle black here bro.

Bruh wat? You think a LSU team beating Alabama then going on to beating the SEC East champion would have trouble against TCU lmao

2 Loss SEC Champion LSU? Absolutely. The answer is yes.
Those who bring up the Penn State situation... let me remind you of this:
we are talking SEC Champ, not any other conference champ. The SEC has owned CFB for the past decade and a half. There's no way the SEC champ gets left out.

The same principle applies to LSU in 2007. It’s clear they were the team to go to the BCS title game - SEC Champs and best resume of 3 other teams with the same record.
