I am not delusional to the point of talking about what will surely take another recruiting cycle or more to get to. But carry on.

hate to say this but I think they would and they would deserve it. If they beat Alabama then they are in the driver's seat to Atlanta and the CFP.

If we run the table and win SECCG we will 100% be in the playoffs

Who else deserved it then? Only Ohio State had 1 L and they made the championship. Everyone else had 2. The next best case was probably Virginia Tech and LSU beat them 48-7. UGA didn’t even win their division.

A great argument to see the system go to 2 with an option for 3. #1 gets the bye, 2 plays 3. Winner plays 1 for the championship. If only 2 earn the spot then you just have 1 vs 2.

Lsu is good but tcu is undefeated in arguably a better conference (this season) if they win out they deserve to make the playoffs over a 2 loss lsu that wins the conference championship

Texas almost beat bama and tcu will likely wipe the floor with texas.

So you really think TCU would beat Bama if they played this weekend?

Yes I would and I doubt lsu would be favored. I don’t sports bet but in this hypothetical I would just do the money line

Alabama beat texas by 1 point and had to injure their quarterback to do it. There is no reason to think the sec is any better than the big 12.

Lsu lost to Florida state for gods sake, no, there is no reason 2 loss sec champ lsu deserves to get in over undefeated or 1 loss tcu/ok state. However, they deserve to make it in over any other team in the sec, so they would take Georgia or Tennessee’s spot

Could go either way. I think they would have a better chance of winning than lsu does. I think both teams could beat bama

No way the SEC Champ doesn’t get a spot.

A 2 loss big ten champion Penn State didn’t make it despite a head to head win over #2 Ohio State in 2016

So you think that LSU could beat Bama, but earlier in the thread you lol’d at LSU possibly beating TCU.

That is a possibility this year.

Interesting, because I can think of 8 reasons since 2010. As in the number of SEC teams that have won the national championship while the Big 12 hasn’t won anything of significance. Your last conference Natty was in 2005 and you’re delusional if you think y’all are playing at the level SEC teams are at this point in time.

Lsu lost to Florida state

First of all, lol at you using a loss as evidence that the Big 12 is good. Second of all, perhaps LSU and Alabama aren’t the best teams in the SEC this year? If the winner of Georgia/Tennessee also wins the SECCG, then the loser of that game absolutely deserves to go to the playoffs over TCU or Oklahoma State given everyone wins out. If Alabama or LSU wins out through the SECCG, the 1 loss East winner would deserve to go to the playoffs over TCU or Okie Lite as well.

Your conference sucks. Congrats on the early season near loss to Alabama, but y’all have a long track record of accomplishing nothing of note against elite SEC teams in the postseason. We heard the same rhetoric in 2019 from Big 12 fans when LSU would’ve beaten Oklahoma 100-0 if we would’ve kept our foot on the gas all game. Y’all don’t deserve it. Period. Elite players aren’t going to the Big 12, the level of play and coaching is extremely low for a P5 conference, and the cream always rises to the top by the end of the season in our conference. Cry about it. Nobody wants to watch another SEC team commit war crimes against the Big 12 this postseason

Arguably a better conference? are you joking? There's 3 teams in the SEC that are better than the best Big 12 team. The Big 12 is deeper than they've been in a long time but the most talented team (Texas) would finish fourth in the Sec west.

You are getting downvoted but this could certainly be a road block for LSU.

We may be SEC champs but Tennessee would still have one less loss and a big win head-to-head on LSU's field.

I think the best case scenario for LSU would be to meet Tennessee in the SEC Championship Game. If LSU were to win, Tennessee would still probably have one less loss, but would no longer have the head-to-head advantage. At that point, I think LSU would go over Tennessee.

I think there’s too many ahead of us to make the playoffs. But IF we were to run the table including winning the SEC, not getting that last second win against FSU will be that much more regrettable

You can’t use another season to argue that a conference is better this season. Every team in the big 12 besides 1 will likely go bowling this season.

If tcu is undefeated there is no reason they should not get in over clemson or a 1 loss sec team that doesn’t win the conference championship. People will be outraged and rightfully so

I never thought we would see a 2 loss team in the 4 team playoff but the path is there.

I believe LSU would beat Clemson, Kansas State, or TCU.
