San Jose is Northern California. If anything he'd be biased against USC. They generally don't like the Southerners. Basically two very different states.

This is irrelevant. The pollster is not a hardcore LSU fan. What he is saying, by his metric, is that LSU had the most impressive victory for the first week and they deserve the ranking

The whole point, which you keep missing, is that his methodology isn't about week one. It is about getting to a ballot which isn't biased by preseason ranking by measuring on the field results. LSU might not be number one, but that will sort itself out on the field. Because his rankings are fluid, he isn't rigidly locked into that formulation. To see people on here not get that is really hilarious.

USC looked good but there lack of depth will kill them in the end. UT has no business being in there w/ a victory over a rebuilding Utah State. Marshall is stacked this year and could run the table. LSU should not be no. 1. Otherwise i don't have a lot of problems w/ it. Its week 1 and this guy will move the teams a lot.

Agreed. I like his method although if I were to rank teams using his method I'd probably have UGA or A&M at #1 right now.
