Based on results alone, South Carolina's one appearance makes them a very strong playa in this competition.

Agree that it's a tossup between 1995 Arkansas and 2002 Arkansas. Arky was only in the 02 game because of Bama's probation (lost to Bama 30-12).

Going in to the game I would say 2007 Tennessee. They played pretty well that day though. Proved me wrong.

2007 Tennessee

Not only did the Vols get blown out by two SEC teams, they also lost to Cal by two scores.

What's interesting is, for all the moaning about the SEC being down with this matchup and Mizzou being the East rep ruining it or what the hell ever...

...from that list, there have only ever been five SEC title games that pitted two Top 5 teams against each other. Mizzou-Auburn is one of those.

I was going to say the same thing. That team was decent, but Florida raped us twice that year.

It is still baffling how the UGA 2007 team just decided to not show up in Knoxville and let that UT team walk all over them. It was like their minds were elsewhere and their bodies were just going through the motions. Literally one of the best teams UGA had talent wise and that UT game cost them a shot at a possible title.

2002 Arkansas had a solid schedule of wins: Boise State, South Florida, LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, and State.

1995 Arkansas beat Alabama at Bama and finished 6-2 in league play. Lost to a bad LSU team to close out season.

That game 100% cost us a title. I don't think LSU could have hung with us in the SECCG with the way we started playing after Vanderbilt. They were on a mission. It's a shame.

The 1999 Gators flat out quit in the second half.
