Yeah, but that was a 17-9 down time. It happens.

You could tell the effect of Chavis was starting to show. I suppose it's just that the team had too much talent for performing the way they did.

It was a personal choice. Dude was a cancer. He had the tools but sadly he was a major tool himself.

Matt Simms.

Crompton sucked but I personally think with a competent coaching staff for his entire career he would have been at least a serviceable QB. Simms could have the best coaches in the game and still screw it up.

Spencer Pennington. Damn I wish Jonathan Richey was about 4 years younger. He wouldve definitely started in 04.(And should have in 00 when Zow was sucking and Watts was hurt)

BTW any other Bama fans we couldn't have done any worse and may have done better at least beat Minnesota) had we just stuck Prothro or Roman Harper in at QB and just ran Veer. I mean the OL like Britt, Mathis etc knew it already from the Fran days.

I know it's ultimately the HC's responsibility to have a QB in hand, even with Perrilloux hosing up, but I think one day CLM will get some just credit for what he accomplished 2008-2011.

You are either a moron- or know absolutely nothing about the history of your school. Tyson Lee holds the Miss State record for completion percentage.

We've had wayyyyyy worse QB's than him.

Doesn't discount how bad he was. Damn I only said he was one of the worst. His completion percentage was 58%. Awesome. Good for him. But he still has a horrible TD-INT ratio. Nor can you discount the times he looked completely lost in the backfield. He wasn't the worst QB by any means, but he still sucked.

Not reading through the whole thread, but Robert Johnson was terrible as a QB...he wasn't too bad as a WR though

By far our worst QB EVA. He's so terrible that he let a wide receiver beat him out for the job. I think Joker played the race card for keeping Morgan Newton in as Quarterback. He gave him way many to opportunities.

Bama has several candidates that put me on high blood pressure medication. I think Spencer Pennington single-handedly put my cardiologists kids through college...

Wow, that's a name I never thought I'd hear again. I remember that year vividly. Andrew Zow's numbers in 2000 make Jordan Jefferson look like a heisman candidate. After Watts tore his ACL, fans were begging for Dubose to play Richey. He certainly couldn't have done worse. It's amazing how Andrew Zow sandwiched such a terrible season in between two decent seasons. He finished 2001 pretty strong after Watts blew out his other fricking knee.

either spencer pennington or brian burgdorph. those two just weren't very good. but they tried. the worst fourth quarter qb we had was tyler watts. you could always depend on tw late in a game needing a first down, to selfishly keep the ball and come up short. bama lost many games because of this scenario, in his time at the capstone.

Anybody that thinks JJ is better than Booty, Howard, or Randell is kidding themselves. Howard is known for the AU int.game but overall he was a far superior passer to JJ and Randell.

I'm racking my brain trying to remember how bad Chad Loup and Sol Graves were.
