So I guess Georgia Southern was better than LSU?

Get real. LSU was considered one of the GOAT before the BCSNCG. Can't measure a defense by one game.

THEY AVERAGED 350 YARDS A GAME RUSHING

Against who?

Btw, just out of curiosity... how many yards a game in the air did Oregon average this year or last year?

I think the level of competition makes a huge difference.

Do you really think if you substituted this Bama dynasty's players into that Nebraska schedule that they couldn't average that many rushing yards?

Nope. Just one of the greatest seasons.

Nebraska 95 would wreck every Bama team in the last 30 years. It's crazy you think they wouldn't.

So they would get 150 yards over their average against very good team?

I honestly think these Bama teams would likely win. I would not be shocked either way though.. but I certainly think it's foolish to think the game wouldn't be completely competitive.

2011 considered one of the best defenses of all time.

No way you rush for 300 yards on that defense--when it really matters.

Using a throwaway game like Georgia Southern is ridiculous. It's like comparing this year's LSU team to Towson.

Gets pretty silly.

Then you are ignorant. These last Bama teams could'nt beat everyone on their schedule but could beat the greatest team of all time.

Not just very good--arguably one of the greatest defenses of all time.

I smell corn dog.

I would wager that the average weight and strength of our teams would be better than the Nebraska teams' averages.

Did you miss where I said Bama's 2011 def was the GOAT?
2011 Bama struggled against the option.

I think it's you that are biased, and not me being ignorant.

IN ORDER TO CALL SOMEONE THE GOAT, they would have to have played a similarly difficult SCHEDULE.

Nebraska's collective schedules were not as difficult as Alabama's. It took Manziel, one of the freakiest players of all time to beat Bama. And I think it's fair to say last year's LSU team was a fairly "decent" team, when we lost to y'all. Likewise, that same team got their arse smoked in the NC game.

One game does not a team make. We have proven that you can validate a 1 loss team last year, very convincingly.

Have you ever watched baseball or basketball? They play a series to determine who is a better team. No matter how mismatched, there is almost never a sweep.

When Alabama CB Dre Kirkpatrick proclaimed on Monday night that Alabama had “the greatest defense in the world,” and “the greatest defense to ever touch the field,” he wasn’t far off. The Tide allowed LSU to cross midfield only once in the national title game and finished the season ranked first in points allowed (8.2 PPG). Only one team scored more than 14 against the Tide all year and that was FCS Georgia Southern, which caught Alabama snoozing between SEC games. We are going to look back on ‘Bama’s unit (Kirkpatrick, LB Courtney Upshaw, LB Don’t’a Hightower, S Mark Barron, etc.) as one full of future NFL stars and the best defense of the modern era.

btw, i'm not saying we were or weren't better than nebraska. i haven't done nearly enough research to come to a conclusion. i'm just arguing what facts i feel i've gathered -so far-

why? because i have an opinion that MAY be different than the masses? i for one would rather gather all of the facts I can before i make a call on it.

i think context makes a huge difference. i don't allow public perception to control how i feel.

Let's put this one to bed. The 92 Bama defense breaks 95 Nebraska in half.

But Alabama's 92 offense would probably only score 14 points in that game.

Hell, let's schedule an alumni game. McCants will hide a crack pipe in his pads and it will be a real party.
