What is your favorite teams HC worst coached game or decision?

Kirby's fake punt in the 2018 SEC championship game was probably the worst decision he's made. His worst coached game was last year against Carolina when he didn't kick a field goal. Kirby lost us that game.

Not only running the whirlybird, but running it over and over against Clemson.

The fact that you have a play referred to as whirlybird is strong evidence that you need to fire your coach. Oh wait you’re too the poors to do that. Oh well. #gusbus2020

sigh

not sure why people (our own fans at that) continue to parrot this. The play call itself was absolutely brilliant. The execution was abysmal.

Troy; but one can turn a bad situation into a positive if you learn from it.

I think that game was a small a very public reminder to CEO to recommit himself to not making the same mistakes he did at OM.

Seems to be working out well since then.

That will get tossed around, but I think it was a "necessary loss" to gain total control over the locker room (much like the Ga State and BYU losses for Tennessee this year).

For O at LSU; maybe the final seconds against Florida in 2016. Guice not aware of the play, LSU can't get in and loses. Would have been a Sugar Bowl season.

Or maybe, last offensive drive against A&M in 2018... has the ball and 1 TD lead with under 2 minutes. 3 and out, 3 straight runs. Give the ball back to A&M, who ties it on the final play, wins later in OT.

I think that game taught him a lesson: in this day of pass-friendly rules, you CAN'T rely on defense to hold a late lead. It's too easy for a team to go balls-out every play, and keep getting 1st downs and get a score.
In that thought process, you do the same thing to your opponent- go for the decisive score instead of milking the clock.

I agree.
The timing was also crucial. Give bama the ball back and the game was over. The defense wasnt stopping Hurts. We didnt have the linebacker play needed for a weapon like him.

I was 100% more upset at the fake field goal against LSU. I know coach O was pulling out all of the stops and going for 4th downs against us. But we needed points at that stage of the game.

4th and 11 at midfield in a tied game with 3 minutes left against a defense that didn’t even have a punt returner on the field.

Great call

The playcalling in the 2nd half is what should frustrate gator fans.

It was a rookie mistake from a 10 year veteran coach. Inexcusable.
