Neutral site in Jax

In truth, it isn't neutral. It's long been a "home away from home" for the Gators. But, I'm not complaining and neither do most UGA fans. Win or lose, the game's a nice trip for Dawgs fans to make each year, etc.

Because you go to st simons doesn’t mean that Jacksonville is great nor the location of the game in that shitty stadium.

I have been to 25 of those games and it is awful.

Stopped in 2019 because it’s that bad

Likely stopped because you’re an old cranky M’fer. You used to enjoy it, let the next generation of dawgs do the same and continue tradition.

Jacksonville is the host of each football season's greatest event. Should never leave.

You’re not wrong about Legion Field and the area around it. I get the appeal of Jacksonville too. Just thought if you guys got to play each other in each other’s atmosphere it could be really fun. Don’t take Jacksonville out all together - do a home/jville/away/jville for a trial run. I’m unbiased but would like to see UF @ UGA and vice versa

All I heard in all y’all’s posts is that the beach 30 min to 1 hr away is great, so keep the game there.

Nothing about the game or anywhere near it

Youve been to 25 and you need us to describe a 50/50 split stadium after a 3 day tailgate experience?

Ok.

Fine, the fact that it’s one of only 2 games left in college football with a perfect 50/50 split stadium isn’t enough? The fact that when each side scores, the other has to sit there and take the roar of the opposing crowd? The fact that you’ll never feel like you’re in a fight with your team more than at this particular game, in this particular set up? The fact that that transfer of crowd energy over 4 qtrs makes it the most satisfying win to witness and the most unbearable loss to suffer?

It’s so uniquely college football, I can’t understand people who want it to go away.

Having the game in J’ville is fun. There are lots of events that coincide with the game in the J’ville, Amelia Island, SSI, Jekyl Island, etc. areas for a long time. Those have become traditions and moving the game would take that away. The powerful boosters down south won’t let that happen.

I’m going to have to take the wife and myself to one of those games. Sounds like fun.

I think most Georgia fans like it in Jacksonville. I don't care, really. I am more of a traditionalist in most things, though, so JAX is fine.

UGA, by far, has the least amount of games in hostile road environments.

Can you give us some figures on this, please?

If you are correct, then we also have the least number in a friendly home environment, too, right? I mean, we lose that aspect at a neutral site, too. And you single out Georgia, but you do realize that:

1. Florida plays in this rivalry, too, yet you single out Georgia
2. Jacksonville is IN Florida,
3. You didn't think this through

Just a random thought. I mean the Iron Bowl was named that because the industry in Birmingham. It’s still the Iron Bowl though even though it’s no longer played there. TWLOCP would still be that if it moved to home sites. Fans would bring the traditions with them only the venue would change. That’s what UA and AU did. I’m not trying to shite on UGA/UF traditions btw.

bullshite. In Alabama fans of Bama and Auburn would take annual vacations the week of the Iron Bowl and stay in Birmingham all week. Restaurants and bars in B'ham would be filled with the crowd divided 50/50. Auburn wives would move back to mom and dad for the week to get away from their Bama husbands.
You don't find any of that in Auburn or Tuscaloosa. Just because they call it the Iron Bowl doesn't mean it is that.
Leave the WLOCP to Georgia and Florida do decide.
