Stadium renovations will begin after that.

Seems like many of the comments criticizing the game being played in Jax comes from people who aren't fans of either UF or UGA.

For no particular reason (good or bad) at all, this is a big game every year (typically) between two highly ranked teams, yet I rarely watch or care about this game.

I have no idea why, and it has nothing to do with Jacksonville or the neutral site, it just never moved the needle for me.

Excluding LSU games, all the other SEC rivalries (Alabama-Auburn, Georgia-Auburn, Alabama-Tennessee, and so on) grab my attention before this game. No idea why.

It needs to be there forever.

And as part of stadium reno, they need to rename it Munson Field.

I didn’t think people could call it the Cocktail Party anymore.

My post isn’t intended and shouldn’t be construed as a shot against Georgia, Florida, Jacksonville, the game and rivalry.

It’s more of an admission of this really bizarre quirk of mine that I can’t justify of put a finger on why it’s there.

No skin in the game, but wouldn't it be better for the rivalry if the teams to play in Athens and The Swamp?

Everyone thought the Iron Bowl was amazing being played at Legion Field until they started playing in Auburn and then T-Town. Playing the rivalry game in a hostile environment where it's 85% hostile fans makes the rivalry even greater.

Legion Field isn't a destination. Coastal Florida/Georgia is.

At Jacksonville its a hostile environment where 100% of the fans are hostile.

Home and home is better for recruiting. Jax is tradition and more $$ for the schools.

This. There’s nothing quite like it (save Red River) left in college sports. The electricity between both side of the split stadium is real; when they score, you have no choice but to just take it and when you score, it’s the same. More than any other game, you as a fan feel like you’re part of the damn thing. It all feels personal, making it the game that hurts the worst to lose but feels the absolute best to win.

Occasionally, we should think about the fans.

This also means every other year UGA has a shittier schedule for those that go to Jax.
