No, it seems like Auburn fans are more concerned with what Bama fans are saying apparently

Haven't seen one credible thing to suggest a redshirt.

And please don't post about the other players who had different circumstances.

not sure he can take a RS..I have heard if he is declared ineligible the NCAA may grant a waiver to stay at AU instead of the JUCO routed..With that waiver he will have to sit out a year and that will count against his 4..Kinda like what they used to refer to as partial qualifiers.

I'm not sure he would stay at AU unable to play for a year and still have it count against his 4 years. He would probably look at JUCO in that case and I wouldn't blame him.

Interesting comments from his former coach.

quote:

Said Crutchfield: "Everybody knew he had some (academic) work to do. But it wasn't a situation that was totally out of reach. When he was a junior, he had like a 2.3, 2.4 GPA and he was on course making A's and B's if he got his ACT score. It was a situation where he was close but he wasn't totally qualified.
LINK

It really makes you wonder how much his grades were actually changed.

I still think AU is in the clear but it is bad PR when your story is on the front page of foxnews.com.

Well when you read the story you think this kid had a horrible GPA and was dumb as a rock. If what this coach is saying is true, then he was really close to qualifying going into his senior year. I'm really curious to know how much his transcript was actually changed.

To be fair, if you can't get better than a 2.5 in a Memphis public school, you're near the bottom.

Are you counting on someone who helped bring down Alabama? Is he now a friend of the Tide?

Nope, he's not. In fact (tin foil hat here) if anything I bet he's trying to start a booster war between Bama and Au, let us bring ourselves down and have Ut be the benefitiary.

Just about the only way UT could become relevant again

If his grades were close, and he didn't have knowledge of the change, he'll likely qualify for a waiver from the clearing house. If there was a significant discrepancy, they will likely conclude that he knew, and he would lose a year of eligibility.

Very, especially if the grade change on Jovon was not the only thing the NCAA is investigating. It seems the NCAA feels there is more to this.

Crutchfield said Saturday the NCAA asked questions about the transcript and other topics that weren't confined only to Robinson.

"But I really don't want to get into what else they were talking about," Crutchfield said. "They were asking a lot of different questions about a lot of different things."

That right there tells me the NCAA is looking at other things and not just the grade change. The next concern is what was the motivation of the GC to do this. If it was out of kindness to see him succeed why not tell the NCAA she did it without hom knowing, because I am sure he will collaborate this as his mother already has stated Jovon did nothing wrong. She already resigned why not come forth and allow him, as the article suggested, to move on and get a waiver as a non-qualifier.

NCAA compliance expert John Infante, author of the Bylaw Blog, wrote that Robinson could get a waiver to stay at Auburn as a non-qualifier if he shows evidence he wasn't aware of the fraud.

This whole thing hinges on the GC's motivation and who she was involved with. The sad part is that Jovon may be completely innocent in this mess but other people, maybe for reasons of greed, will ruin an opportunity for him.

Well, that's interesting. Besides the transcript, what other topics are they asking about? Sounds important since he felt the need to mention it but wouldn't give details.
