Edit: OU wins another, 6 out of 9. Top of the women's gymnastics world.

2 SEC teams (3 including OU) in the final four - All squads compete at once, top score is the national champion.

Utah, OU, UF, LSU

In the semifinals, here are their scores from highest to lowest:
Utah 198.2250
OU 198.1625
LSU 197.4750
UF 197.4000

OU is the definite favorite, but Utah was the best in the semifinals.

Utah used to be the queen of women's gymnastics a long time ago. Their last title was 1995. They were runner-up in 2015, when UF won the title.

Championships started in 1982. They won the first 5 titles and 9 of the first 14. Since then it's almost exclusively Bama, Georgia, Florida, OU, UCLA that have the titles. Michigan has one and I believe the only one outside that group.

Utah has qualified for NCAA championships every year it's been held. They have 9 titles and 8 runner-up finishes since these championships started.

I think Georgia has the most titles, at 10.

LSU has no titles in this sport, but they have been runner-up 4 times.

From NCAA site:
Teams: No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 2 Florida, No. 5 Utah, and No. 6 LSU
When: 4 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 15
Watch: ABC
Stream: ESPN

Yeah, this is a women’s basketball forum. Tell gymnastics to get their own troll board.

POTUS 2024 brings quality stuff to the board. Beside, they are "unwritten" rules" anyway.

Before you downvote me, how about a picture of one of LSU's bench warmers, who is also probably the richest person in college athletics.

After one rotation, OU on top, UF second, only down about 0.04, which bodes well for UF since they started on beam, which might be their worst event (it was in the semifinals IIRC).

LSU in last place at the moment, currently on beam. Might not be their day, we'll see.

After 3 rotations, OU expands the lead, they are up by about 0.19, which I did not expect after the first rotation.

This might be yet another title for OU.

To those who "know" OU will flop to a nobody in the SEC, shove it where the sun don't shine.

OU just won their 6th national championship in Women's
Gymnastics! In the finals, came out on top against Florida, Utah, and LSU.

And the OU men are in strong contention to win it all too.

Back to Back for sure, apparently K.J. Kindler and Patty Gasso are in a competition to see who can win more titles. Of course Gasso is going for the threepeat this year.

UF Gymnastics failed again… they probably had the most talented team in NCAA history (across all sports) this year…

It’ll be interesting to see who ends up with the most titles between Patty and KJ. They both deserve a statue for what they’ve done at Oklahoma.

This meet was decided before anyone competed. The 10 for the Florida girl was a joke. Most of the scoring is based on reputation.

I’m no expert at how the judges score in gymnastics but I did watch OU defeat all 3 of these teams in the regular season so I’ll be happy with the championship. Good luck to your tigers moving forward.

I think they came in 2nd in the nation. That's not failure. It's going to be hard for anyone to break through against OU and how they have things going right now.

How do you assess this? They are stacked, for sure. Lot of former elite gymnasts. Quite a few World medals on the squad.
