There is an SEC team playing in every game tomorrow.

Pardon my softball ignorance, but, how are there three teams ranked #1 and #2 then one ranked #3 and another number #5. Does it have something to do with the original seeding at beginning of the tournament? Is it each team's highest ranking out of the various polls?

Not at all, I believe you are right, but they didn't do the traditional seeding this year in softball, so I really pay it no attention. I think they seeded more like the basketball tourney, so State would be like a 5 seed.
Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

That was their orihginal regional seeds. The 1s and 2s made it in three quadrants and State and Tech shook things up. Oklahoma and Florida were the 1-2 in that quadrant

Arkansas, Nebraska, Texas and Texas Tech all with in easy driving distance. The NBA playoffs are going on too so hotels are at a premium!

They were gonna show the seeding like this in the baseball tournament too but there was some pretty big confusion/backlash against it in softball that they went back to the old way of showing it for the baseball tournament.
It all goes back to the idea that they are now “seeding” teams 17-32 as well.

Fun first round matchup for the Hogs. Obviously, Jordy Frahm is one of the best softball players to ever play in the NCAA. So that’s not ideal. Also, Nebraska has 3 starters that formerly played for Diefel here at Arkansas.
