I don’t think My Tigers have just a coaching problem, or just a talent problem, or just a quarterback problem. I believe they have all of these problems because some VERY arrogant people are sticking their noses into places that they don’t belong.

Sometimes people must be humbled before they learn, so I’m asking this question:

How many times does our team have to be humiliated before these people begin to show any humility?

Auburn has a coaching problem which has led to a talent problem due to piss poor recruiting.

This is the major problem at many schools, which inhibits stability and growth. In AU's case, any hope for a year two bounce back died on the vine when the people you are mentioning attempted a failed coup.

They then ran off the AD. Harsin has no chance at success at AU. He's as welcome as Bill Curry was to Alabama.

Based on Utx and UT, a mighty long time and even then, no guarantee.

They are the only SEC team without a winning record vs Vandy.

Alright, well why don't we smooth the head down to nothing, stick a pumpkin under its arm and change the nameplate to Ichabod Crane?

I’ve been through it. Being a Alabama fan, we sucked in the 80’s , got a little life back in the early 90’s. Mid 90’s sucked again. Come along Mike Dubose, we at some point during his tenure in the late 90’s was respectable. Did not win every game. Won n the SEC Championship with him (1999).

Then comes in from Texas Christian (TCU) University, Dennis Franchione. Was a successful college coach from Texas and Franchione could have won big at Alabama if he never left for College Station. They chewed him up and spit him out fast. The next thing was happening was the scandals Alabama had was paying players which they were under sanctions that would take years to overcome as far as recruiting. Mike Price happened in the spring after Franchione. Later after Price, the powers that be hired Mike Shula to take over because they felt he would be the less to frick things up until the sanctions were lifted. After Mike Shula was fired December 2006, that began the search for a new head coach and he was named Nick Saban, January 2007.

Beating Missouri in a blowout fashion will do the trick.

Fire the guy who can't recruit and hire a guy who can.
Boom. Problem solved.

In fairness....we will never know what might have been with Auburn and Harsin. No way of knowing how it would have turned out had the boosters stayed out of things.

THIS! Case in point: Last year Alabama's offensive coordinator was a train wreck. Alabama's defensive coordinator was a train wreck. Yet Alabama was 8 minutes away from a national championship. Why? Nick Saban knows how to recruit.

O. K.

But . . . Bama’s program isn’t a crap show. What talent, coaching or otherwise, want to go into a tanked program?

We need to hire a spit polished A/D, give them legal recourse against meddlesome boosters, then sit back, shut up, let them recruit top notch coaching, and Sue the hell out of anyone that gets in their way!

There are really just two boosters that matter the most. One the whole South knows because of commercials. Both of them have donated a ton of money, so that does get you influence. There are others who have donated a lot, but don’t seem interested in interfering which is good. Only difference in Auburn and most other Southern schools is we have one that is really well known.

When Auburn hired Harsin. After a little research(I had never heard of him), I told some Aubie posters that I didn't think he is a good recruiter. They said he is known for coaching up players and getting the most out of them. My thoughts took me back to a Gene Stallings quote, "We didn't win at Alabama because of my coaching. We won because we had better players."(talking about the 92 season, for context). Just hire the most accomplished recruiter you can find, and the rest will take care of itself.
