I keep reading this but I disagree. It’s a roster full of #1 classes just like any other Saban team the last 12 years or so. Failure to develop that talent as well as in the past doesn’t suddenly make this a better coaching job

So you don’t think breaking in a new starting quarterback and new freshman left tackle in the same season was a big deal. And having a new offensive coordinator. And a new defensive coordinator.

We still don’t have a NFL caliber receiver, the OL learned to block for the first time against UGA, and Milroe was grossly mismanaged the first half of the season.

See my post above.

Cole Cubelic thought Bama had the best OL in the nation in August.

Lots of people did but when the year started they looked like Tarzan and played like Jane.

Getting them sorted out has been one of the staff’s biggest accomplishments this season.

2009 was his best coaching job. Knew his team had an inferior roster to UF so he prepared for UF for an entire year.

probably so, I mean it's hard to coach when all you have is 5 star players. most coaches would just give up. but not Saban. he's the best when you have all those 5 stars!

Probably the worst team since the 2010 team and in the playoffs. That is a heck of an accomplishment.

So people expected them to be dominant because of their pieces and it took Saban some time to get there, so that means spanky was masterful in coaching. Low bar.

Auburn really beat Bama as well. Bama constantly living at the back door.

Saban didn’t have a quarterback to start the season who was ready to start and ended up with one in the top ten of the Heisman vote. And Kelly had a quarterback who was considered a 3rd or 4th round pick and now will be among the first 3 selected maybe no1 overall. Great coaching jobs by both.

Would you feel differently if Auburn had caught that punt or knocked that pass down?

What if two of our TDs weren't called back? This is such a stupid game to play.

The holding caused the TD. Did you just want the refs to take the day off?

No shite, tell that to clueless. Missed punts and bad coverage happened too. The hold was a "payback" call for missing an obvious facemask...that would have resulted in offsetting penalties - not points.

Disagree, it has to be 2009. Way too lazy to look this up, but I would assume the talent he had on the 2009 roster pales in comparison to the star level talent he has on the roster now. Also, 2009 was only his third year, so only really had two full recruiting class with him.
