With Expansion To 16 Teams Should The SEC Play A Weekly Weeknight Game?

All these 11AM/Noon starts are ridiculous.

Once the game inventory increases with the addition of OU and Texas, I think the SEC should develop (and sell) a stand alone weeknight package of one game a week. Wednesday? Thursday? Tuesday? Use bye weeks to make it painless to the participants.

I think it would help grow the brand even more, especially if it were on free TV.

Sure, as long as it always involves little 10 teams

Missouri/Kentucky

State/South Carolina

A&M/Vanderbilt

Texas/Tennessee

Sound like prime Thursday night games

Noon starts in the south in September are bullcrap. The UK game was on SEC+ Saturday, not on TV so why in the name of all that is holy was it a noon start? If nobody is going to watch it (and I'm glad they didn't) what difference does the starting time make? We weren't going to pull viewers from Auburn and PSU.

Most of us have played Thursday nights at one time or another, just no more short week games. ESPN has the games so they aren't about to put it on free TV.

In fact if ESPN move Beth Mowins to another conference I am all for it.

Is math a challenge? If you are going to get in a dig at least count to ten.

Bama's real rival is math, this is widely known.

This.

Bama, LSU, Georgia, OU, Texas, Florida, & Auburn would never play on a week night.

Those were example matchups, no an entire list of the 10 schools......

Texas has been playing a ton of games on LHN in front of dozens of fans for years, I'm sure they would love a shot at playing a Thursday game with some ratings after a decade of abysmal mediocrity.

OU talks big smack but they are a little bitch as a school and do what they are told. They are a bunch of overachievers but they didn't have the real power in the Big 12 much less the SEC.

In reality though they will put everyone on the Thursday games at some point, for the big names they will do it against scrubs. I love watching Thursday games but they suck hard for fans that attend at places with big tailgating scenes and lots of pomp and traditions that don't work for those games.
