He was MS State bound a couple of years ago but apparently has a bad past. Bjork doesn’t give a damn though given his history. Would be a great hire

What’s bad about his past?

Bakich will probably replace Corbin when Corbin retires. Bakich was on staff when Corbin started his run in Nashville.

. I definitely can see this happening unless someone scoops him up like LSU or TAMU.

. Maybe with the new rules that allow “coupling” of scholarships being in a private school isn’t the advantage as it used to be. However, it would be unusual to see a successful coach that is loved by his fan base and has a sweet gig where he can always be in a regional just give that up.

Interestingly, I haven’t seen Bianco’s name mentioned once for our [upcoming] opening.
That’s actually surprising, considering who our AD is.

ETA: That read like an insult to Bianco; it wasn’t at all. Just an observation.

He hasn’t won since 2009 and made only one final (2017). That is not a great job by LSU standards. His teams consistently underachieve abs we have had multiple pitchers with arm issues every year. In fact, if Walker is healthy in 2017, we believe we beat UF in the finals abs likely aren’t having this conversation. But the program has grown stale and the trajectory is down. We are in the bottom quartile isn’t he conference somewhere we have not been since the early 1980’s /late 1979’s pre Skip Bertman.

He’s a good coach.
Just don’t think he’s on our radar.

In addition to the guys I named earlier (copied/re-posted below) there’s zero doubt in my mind our list will include guys no one’s even thinking of at this point.

Additionally, I think we’ll throw stupid money at some of the legends who haven’t yet been mentioned.
Can’t hurt to try.

Jim Schlossnagle (TCU) *Interestingly, folks don’t seem nearly as high on him as in years past
Tim Tadlock (Texas Tech)
Tony Vitello (Tennessee)

The 2 names will be Vitello and Backik because neither are that well paid and both the LSU and TAMU jobs would be upgrades. With that I bet Tenn throws a ton of money at him.
LSU is arguably a bigger name job than TAMU and with it comes the pressure of winning so neither of these guys may be interested in that.

It’ll be interesting to see with whom both teams end up.
Kinda wild that we’ll both be conducting searches at the same time.
I wish LSU the best in finding their best fit.

Heefner has done a lot with very little and he has ties to the area. Him or Tadlock would be my first choices.

I think you'd have a hard time chiseling Vitello out from Tennessee because there is a good chance he's just biding his time to take the Arkansas job and he has the Vols humming along nicely now. Why take on a rebuild when he can patiently wait, doing very well thank you, and get what many people say is his dream job?

People on here think Schloss will leave do not understand the advantages of coaching private schools like Vandy, TCU, DBU, Tulane, etc. They do not have to report like public schools.

Vandy is a very different situation from TCU. Yes, even a lower tier private school like TCU has more flexibility with scholarship money than a state school like A&M, but they aren't close to being in same class. Rice and Stanford are more apt comparisons to Vandy.

I could live with Schloss, and I think he could be had (he's going through a divorce, and his house where he takes a golf cart to commute to the ballpark is up for sale), but I'd rather have Vitello or Tadlock. I'd be surprised if Tadlock left Tech, unless his wife doesn't like Lubbock.

Heefner is a small school guy with zero experience in the Power 5 leagues. If you want a guy who can do more with less, he's a good choice, but we need the guy who will recruit more talent so that we aren't having to try to beat more talented teams. Nothing about his resume says Heefner is that guy.

Dan McDonnell is a great coach, but I don't see us money-whipping him out of Louisville. Maybe someone else will, but, I don't see him ending up in College Station.
