To be honest... this also sounds like Kirby.

Everyone keeps saying this and yet we just went undefeated with Ed Orgeron, won a national title with Les Miles, and probably should have won another had it not been for some unheard of circumstances. If we can win two nattys under a combined one brain cell I’m not worried about Brian Kelly.
Did you see that the other teams that LSU faced were down big time? Now the SEC west teams are no longer down that LSU could take advantage of getting to the championship when other teams were down. That also includes louse HCs and key injuries to other teams that LSU was able to get the wins. Not anymore! Much tougher competition. This time around LSU and Kelly will be facing much better HCs and/or better roster than the one Ed and Miles had faced when they were the LSU HC.

If he has his record at ND at Aggy, he'd definitely be the "Winningest Coach in Aggy history".
ND doesn't even play in a conference, yet he's played in more conference championship games at ND than Jimbo has at Aggy

You must have been in a coma or living in a cave.Get up to speed. Kirby has won a Natty.
A perfect regular season and avenged his loss in the SECCG. He can definitely win the big ones.

We went to the title in 2011 with the SEC the best it possibly has ever been. 1, 2, and number 3 that year were all from the SEC West.

You already provided your counter argument in the next sentence:
quote:
ND doesn't even play in a conference
quote:
yet he's played in more conference championship games at ND than Jimbo has at Aggy
And Jimbo won more NY6 Bowls at Aggy than Bicurious Brian has in his entire career

Are you saying the Aggies actually showed up for some bowl games

good job for ND not putting up with coaches losing too much.

Jimbo is 34-14 at A&M, has something like a 59% winning percentage, and has never even won the SEC West. His biggest accomplishment was beating the #18 UNC team in the Orange Bowl. Kelly went 81-35 with a 67% winning percentage, 3 playoff appearances, and 1 national championship appearance. I'd say he was very successful at Notre Dame and was only hindered by his recruiting limitations due to academics. You put that man in the SEC and he's going to make some serious noise. Oh and just a little trivia... Notre Dame has won 7 national championships since A&M won their last. LSU has won 4 since A&M did.

Only if we are going to win

Considering the last guy we hired was the losingest coach in Ole Miss history, and he won a national title at LSU...
I think the coach with the most wins in Notre Dame history will do alright here.

So did Kelly actually win anything of consequence at ND or anywhere in his career. Or does he just have lots of wins but no championships to show for it

I was told he has 2 juco championships or something. Something LSU fans will brag about but would roast Aggy if we ever bragged about something like that.

bullshite. Arkansas was decent in 2007 and had probably their best team since desegregation in 2011. Everyone but Arkansas had a pretty good team in 2019. Not to mention LSU still outrecruited everyone else in the SECW not named Bama and A&M this past cycle. And for those arguing that “He couldn’t win the big game,” I don’t recall anyone other than Clemson and Ohio State beating Bama in the playoff.
