SEC isn't really big league in basketball. every year the top 2-3 can compete while the rest suck.
Recruiting wise it has become big league and on the court it is better than you give it credit for and only improving.

Recruiting to LSU football with the insane facilities and instate talent

Our in state talent is pretty salty.

Its not Atlanta or New York or something like that, because we don't have a major urban center like that.

But if we got guys like Greg Monroe, Chris Duhon, DJ Augustine, etc. ever year, we'd be in the NCAA's every year.

Not to mention lesser know guys like Langston Galloway from Baton Rouge who is in the NBA or guys like Rico Gathers.

This year we lost Josh Anderson to fricking WKU. Just last year we lost the top 4 recruits to other schools. All 4* guys.

DeJon Jarreau - UMass
Robert Williams - TAMU
Mark Vital - Baylor
Lamar Peters - MSU

Very good hire on paper at the time

Thought that was a strange one.

There is risk with Wade but i like his pedigree, and the fact he has no previous ties to LSU. I think the majority of the fans would believe in this hire and buy into the culture change which is badly needed.

LSU basketball with average facilities and average instate talent.

Here are some basketball players from Louisiana you may have heard of:

Clyde Drexler
Joe Dumars
Elvin Hayes
Karl Malone
Robert Parish
Willis Reed
Bill Russell

...and those are just the ones in the Hall of Fame.

He's young, energetic, and has no ties to better programs that would steal him away in 2 years.

When Brad Brownell is inevitably fired, I could see Wade ending up at Clemson.

He could have the Clemson job right now if he wanted it. In fact that's the reason Clemson decided to keep brownell. Why would he want the job anyway? Because he's an alum? He knows what Clemson basketball is

Ya'll should have went after Kevin Keatts before he got picked up. That guy is a future coaching star. I think Will Wade, if hired will have LSU in the NIT most years and the occasional tourney appearance every 4 years or so. Kind of like Andy Kennedy.
