What exactly do people think Wade is doing that is different? There's plenty of evidence that even the biggest names in college basketball coaching have been playing players.
Do we hate him for underperforming? That would be a fair critique.

I do know one thing, Tom Izzo has built a lot more equity in college basketball than Will Wade. If it comes down to Izzo vs. Wade in anything but an eating contest Izzo will win.

That just seems like an ad hominem attack instead of an answer. The horse is already out of barn when it comes to the NIL and professionalism of college players. Functionally it's always been a bit of a charade though hasn't it?

That's been a NCAA problem from the get go though.
I don't see how people can refer to a player receiving NIL compensation as an amateur. That's a professional athlete by definition.
As soon as the athletics became something people would pay for and schools would profit from its hard to see how that's going to stay amateur by nature. There's too much desire to win.

None of that made any sense and the overwhelming majority of the hate that Wade gets doesn't make any sense. I guess sometimes people just need to point the finger and hate.
