I'm sure it matters to a small degree but none of the top 5 schools in recruiting this year are in "destination cities."

Because all other stuff isn't equal.

I won't even live in a state where it isn't legal. It's a HUGE deal to people who smoke weed, which is a quite a few at that age.

That was the excuse given but it likely had more to do with him getting scared off by the 5-5 season.

Well I doubt it helped.

I'm sure you will, doesn't guarantee success though.

You won one title between Bear and Saban, I assume you were still trying to hire the best coaches back then.

If we are comparing them to LSU's past 6 years outside 2019, then they were apparently great coaches.

go tell people USC doesn't get a big bonus because of it's location

And they have a ton of tradition. They must have had a better 20 year run than shitty little LSU.

None of that changes:

No 17-18 year old is going to LSU or Alabama because they like Tuscaloosa or Baton Rouge.

Maybe to a regular kid although in my experience, kids dont care much about the legality of smoking weed or not.

The point you're failing to see is that a college football player is still in trouble if he has marijuana in his system, regardless of the state where he lives or the laws therein.

Failing a drug test is way more likely to trip up a college athlete than actually being arrested for possession.

Even if Emmert was as morally bankrupt as you seem to claim, he simply doesn't have the power to do what you suggest. These things are done with committees and such to prevent any such biases or abuses of power. The only one wishing here is you.

I’ll agree with you if I ever see a NOA. Otherwise, I think LSU will be fine with the family connection.

“‘Cause I went to him with a strong arse offer about a month ago,” Wade said on the wiretap. “F***ing strong. Now, the problem was, I know why he didn’t take it now, it was tilted toward the family a little bit. But I mean, it was a f***ing hell of an offer. Like, a hell of an offer. Especially for a kid that’s going to be a two- or three-year kid. I’ve made deals for as good a players as him that were a lot simpler than this.”

What a losing, corrupt institution. This is karma, coming home to roost.

losing

Winningest SEC program over the last 3 seasons that includes a conference championship. Only program to earn the double bye and win double digit conference games in those 3 seasons. Your definition of losing is different than mine.

Dick Vitale is an idiot. Every word that comes out of his mouth is cringe.

He has some good opinions and makes some solid points. If he would just be consistent and avoid trying to be the center of attention all the time I think that he would get a lot more respect from fans.

My definition of losing is 0-3 and 55-17. Seems pretty rock solid to me.

Let's extend your little timeline out a bit and see.

Well, you see, Mr. Smart Guy, my point is you're a loser on EITHER timeline. Again, I forgot how utterly simple I have to make things for y'all to comprehend it.

One year? Losers

10 years? Losers

100 years? Oh my.

You get the picture now?

You brought in a football score to a basketball conversation then used the scores vs one team in one season to say that it was a losing program and then talk about extending the timeline. There's only one more year of the Wade era and that was the year after tearing the whole program down and rebuilding from scratch. He still won 9 conference games that year. So, still not a losing program.

This dude really got confused and brought up a football score in a basketball thread.

And used that score from that one game as proof that an entire program was a losing program.

Then talked about wanting someone else to extend a timeline.

Some people try to talk shite so much that they end up on the end of a limb by themselves.

Then they pull out a saw.
