Wade's wiretap transcript was not allowed into evidence, but it was read in a court of law.

That is true. The transcript was read in court but the judge later threw it out.

It was read at an evidentiary hearing and ruled inadmissible due to relevance. The same ruling was made in trial #2 as well as whether or not to allow Wade/Miller testify. The transcript that was read is all anyone outside the Feds and defense counsel has ever heard. No one outside those parties has ever heard anything else on those tapes, and given it wasn't made a part of the record at either trial, the NCAA can't and won't have access to those tapes. They've already made it clear they cannot use a yahoo news story and treat it as evidence without possession of the source of the story, which are wiretap recordings they don't and won't have.

So at the end of the day, it's not about what people (even the NCAA) think happened, but what they have evidence of happening. If they have no evidence to support the yahoo stories that has made this board salivate, then there's nothing they can do about it. LSU isn't the first program that has had a newsworthy piece released where the NCAA ultimately was unable to do anything.

Also let me know when you guys figure out that the reason why the NCAA only issued this stuff this week is because the government asked them to do. AKA, the government is in cooperation with them, thus the reason why there are 6 schools about to be named.

Actually, this is patently false. Counsel for the FBI (ya know, the organization that has all of the evidence) has said if not specifically entered into trial, none of the evidence is being released.

Repeat that slowly to yourself: none of the evidence...is going...to be...released.

The FBI is not in cahoots with the NCAA. It is working toward something very different.

Yeah I didn't think it was ever read during the actual April trial.

It's not about believing it. It's about proving it.

That's what some of you don't seem to grasp. Not even the NCAA hands out sanctions for what they think is happening.

nobody is saying it can be proven.

What we are saying, and LSU fans are vehemently denying, the NCAA will look into it and see if anything is askew.

Now please show me where I did this:

Hell show me where any LSU fan did that.

To this point and based on current information, it has. The NCAA isn't getting anything from the FBI, so any information it gets from here on out will be on its own accord.

If LSU isn't mentioned by the NCAA as part of an imminent investigation, it's unlikely to happen at all.

No one is saying the NCAA won't try to investigate. What are you even talking about?

We're saying the NCAA's only real course of action is to go after the wiretap which the FBI has said will never be made public. Which means they have very little to go on.

Your board also has a few nice threads going about it. I will not bring them over to this side, but you are free to take a look at them.

Not once does an LSU fan vehemently deny the NCAA will look into it and see if anything is askew.

Tell it to the NCAA who said they held this stuff until after the trial was over at the request of the government.

quote:

The NCAA had held off on investigations, he said, at the request of the government until the trials were concluded.

"So now that's it over, we're going to be moving forward with a number of Level I cases that will help people realize that, 'Yeah, the enforcement staff was in a position to move forward,'" Wilcox said.
