How old are you? If I had to guess, you sit around and talk a big game in life but have an below average sales job and jack off every night. What a sad existence.

I believe I understand this baws reasoning. Recently we've had a lot of Texas Texas A&M rivalry talk and in those threads all A&M can talk about is how much better off they are in the SEC, which is true. They are no more successful than their Big 12/SWC days yet their brand has increased exponentially. That relies completely on SEC dominance, so without that the Aggies would be back to complete mediocrity rather than mediocrity only relative to the rest of the SEC. So the only way for the Aggies to continue their climb is not with their programs success (which they know is futile to try and achieve against SEC teams) but with the general success of the conference isntead. This guy is actually a genius.

But yeah frick that.

Tua vs Faggie.

7/7 125 yards 3 TD passing 1 TD on the ground - No INTs

Smoking a Cuban 10 minutes before Halftime.

Priceless.

At this point, I'm hoping Bama wins. While I would like to see my Ags win, I think Bama continuing to represent the SEC is critical. We have to be the best conference.

It is amazing how many jumped on this.

you said..."The SEC is best when alabama is mediocre, and we are going to have to ride this cycle of theirs out without destroying our programs in the process..essentially avoid becoming Tennessee until saban retires"

edit: Maybe you just meant that you think that outside of Alabama, the SEC sucks most of the time

I can live with that

What I mean is the SEC was at it's best most dominant form when Alabama was weaker. Alabama being dominant does not correlate with the SEC being the dominant football conference. So arguing you want them to beat your team and have a stranglehold on the conference is nonsensical

You can not argue the strength of a conference on the back of one school, much like in basketball you cant measure the strength of the SEC on the back of Kentucky

Alabama's dominance is hindering the rest of the conference from being relevant on national level. Good for them, bad for us. Other teams can occasionally step into the spot light but their is no evidence yet that it will be on a consistent or sustainable basis. Maybe there can be another dominant team in conference but you will never see that dominant streak the SEC had in the BCS era again as long as Alabama maintains it's current status

You do realize the majority of that streak was while we were good, right?

2009 - Alabama
2010 - Auburn
2011 - Alabama
2012 - Alabama

True. I’m sure he would have the same stat line vs Baylor, Texas Tech, Kansas or any other mediocre Big 12 school.

I would argue that the SEC peak of dominance began the decline post 2010

I also think that Alabama can be good and the SEC could still be far and away the most dominant coneference. I would however, not argue that Alabama can be so dominant as to have a stranglehold on the conference and that still be true.

The SEC began it's rise of dominance with alabama being mediocre and the decline of that peak began when alabama shifted from being a contender in the conference to a dominant force stealing the oxygen from the conference

Alabama can be bad, mediocre, good and a contender, but they can't be what they are now and have that coincide with SEC dominance the likes 10 years ago

The idea that we need alabama to win every game as suggested by the poster earlier is not only dumb but has no evidence

not sure why an alabama fan would care anyway, enjoy the ride, rub it in peoples' faces, who gives a shite, you are on top right now
