I’m still glad we played in that stadium bro tbh. Yeah we lost, but we rarely play out West so those experiences are new.

Can’t believe I’m saying it but 1000% agree with you

It would have been crazy home field advantage at the actual Cotton Bowl for you guys tbh

If there was no bad weather yes. Given it’s indoors I don’t think it will impact it much. The sugar last year wasn’t a huge advantage

You know they don’t allow SEC in that bowl.
I always thought it was cool when players on Big 10 teams going there busted out the roses after their conference championships.

I do miss the roses, oranges, and I think I remember some sugar being thrown in the air a few times. Tostitos for the Fiesta Bowl too.
But hey, we have the Pop Tarts and Cheez-Its Bowls now.

I can’t wait to play in the Mattress Mack Bowl one day vs some ACC team.

A&M played in the Cotton Bowl in 2011 and 2013…
In ATT Stadium.

In ATT Stadium.

I can’t believe I let this one slip. But I will still disagree with the principle of keeping the name.
But after reading some of the historical posts here, it seems some of the old stadiums were named after the bowl, and not the other way around. Did not know that. I literally thought the Cotton Bowl was named after the actual Cotton Bowl stadium. Seemed like common sense to look up.

I’m legitimately shocked and confused that a Texan male, who presumably is a college football fan, would make this mistake.

To be honest, I haven’t followed the cotton bowl, but I do now remember A&M and Sooner played at Jerry World. I thought that was temporary. Then why are we renovating the Cotton Bowl? For one game a year? Crazy, we should use it for THE Cotton Bowl, move it back.

The stadium you colloquially refer to as Jerry World is actually called AT&T Stadium.
What was appropriated was the name of a single game played there, the aforementioned Cotton Bowl Classic.
The name also refers to a stadium located in the city of Dallas that happens to be located on the grounds where the Texas State Fair is held every year and the annual football game between Oklahoma and Texas.
So this is a situation where two different things, a football game and a football stadium share the same name.
I believe a similar situation occurred some years ago with the Orange Bowl.

I was at the Independence Snow Bowl game and it still is the 2nd favorite MSU game of my lifetime. When A&M went up by 2 scores, I thought it was over. They miss an xp right before halftime. Griffith returns a blocked xp 98 yds, then Madkin stretches for the goal line for the win. It was a crazy game and great to see JWS get the win over his old school. Would have sucked having to drive back home to middle TN after a loss, traffic was creeping for a good while, saw an ambulance wreck on the ice and have to call another ambulance.
