It's kinda telling ... they don't seem to be gunning for their normal preseason title standing this off season.

New generation that is having a hard time remembering their glory days I guess. It's been awhile.

Is this to be considered a pivotal season for Pruitt? Seems too early to demand too much of him perhaps. I stopped in Tennessee on the way home from Michigan and the family up there is just hoping for improvement and a bowl game. Must wins against South Carolina, Kentucky and Vandy ... who they used to refer to as Winkin, Blinkin and Nod on their schedule.

Irony

I think they do show some good improvement in Pruitt's second year. South Carolina has a bastard schedule and Vandy don't really see why they should beat many SEC teams. So I'd say Tenn finishes fourth or fifth. Battling with UK.

Some Coon Skin Hatters are predicting that Jermy’s staff is going to get a silk purse from the sow’s ear that is their roster. They’re thin on both lines of scrimmage and lost a lot on defense, which wasn’t great to begin with. There are 3 games on their schedule that they will be favored. The rest are toss-ups. If they lose to BYU early it’s gonna be a long season for 10RC.

Meh...on one hand...UT has finished last in the East the last 2 years. On the other hand, they've finished last in the East 3 times since the SEC went to divisions in 1992.

I finally understand how Kentucky fans felt when they would point to Basketball season in the middle of September.

Recap on who has finished at the bottom of their division the most since the SEC alignment of 1992:

Vanderbilt - 14
MSU - 8
Kentucky - 6
Ole Miss - 6
Arkansas - 6
Tennessee - 3
USCe - 3
Auburn - 3
LSU - 3*
Bama - 2*
Missouri - 1
Florida - 0
Georgia - 0
aTm - 0

*'93 LSU had worst record on the field...but Bama finished last due to game forfeitures.

Agreed. Feel for SC, good team but brutal schedule. I still see too many ?'s for UK.

What questions do you see for Kentucky outside of losing Benny and Josh? Secondary is the only question and they will be fine by game 2 or 3 I think

Dang. Mississippi State is the Vanderbilt of the West. Although we have a sizable lead over the rest of the conference. Deal with it.
