Will Pearl's first team finish worse than Barbee's last team?

Pearl's first team (Current) - 10-10 (2-5 SEC)

Barbee's last team - 14–16 (6-12 SEC)

They have a pretty tough schedule ahead. I think it will be close, with maybe only Mizzou, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Alabama being the four teams they can compete heads up with.

The rest of the teams are in the top half of the conference in wins.

Great thread.

2006 Mike Shula regular season record 6-6.

2007 nick saben regular season record 6-6.

Again, great thread.

Does this thread make you feel better about Grant's 6th year?

Doesn't matter. No Auburn fans were expecting a miracle this season. The program was in shambles. That's why we hired Pearl in the first place. He doesn't have his players in there yet. But his first recruiting class is already looking very good and will likely be the best class Auburn has ever had.

Get your shots in while you can Bama fans.

He might. But that does not change the fact the basketball program will get better under him, unlike with Barbee.

I would be hesitant to bring this up too much, as Alabama may be in a similar situation post Grant.

Did you even read the damn thread?

I said you'd have a good chance against Alabama.

This board is the shite these days. No good conversation about anything. Sheesh.

Let's give him a chance to get his own players in. He has a tough mountain to climb to make Auburn relevant in basketball but if he stays I believe that he will do it.

It's possible. Pearl had to patch together a roster the best he could. I'd hate to see how bad it'd be if Barbee was still here. We would have maybe 2 or 3 wins at this point.

Pearl has also signed one of the better recruiting classes we've had in a long time.

Dude, Bama has to bring in someone better. I think Pearl is a much better coach - but that isn't saying a lot when compared to Grant.

Geez, I like basketball and want to discuss it. Pearl is a good topic - he can help turn this league around.

This board thinks every little freakin' thing is a flame. It's not.

He has 2-3 talented players this year but it seems that they do not mesh and don't play well together as a team. Some of our guards are meh.

Your posting history makes it hard to believe you're not flaming when auburn comes into the discussion.

None of us are perfect, but I'm FAR from a flame guy.

He is a good coach, just made some stupid mistakes. If he understands and doesn't do them again it's all good.

They might not win another game this year, so yes.

I think you can take Bama (#fireanthonygrant), OM, and maybe Tennessee. Having to play Georgia twice, KY on the road, and LSU twice is tough.

The big difference I notice with his team is defense, they re pretty relentless. I dread seeing this guy with some good players.
