No.

I think Mississippi's next two high school football classes have plenty of players that can elevate our program. The question is, can Mullen & staff reel them in?

As stated previously we will be a 6-8 win team with the occasional 9-10 win season every 3-5 years. As a state fan I am perfectly ok with that. It will take a decade or more of that before we start to take the next step and have a shot at winning 8-10 games yearly.
Rome wasn't built in a day, steady eddie and over time the program will continue to improve.

Good to hear. Are there any SEC OL coming? The lack of quality instate OL has hurt us recently

I'm not sure on the OL prospects in the class someone that has more knowledge on the subject can chime in if they want.
I am just stating what Paul Jones and many others are saying in that the state of Mississippi's next two classes are the deepest and most talented they've ever seen.
I agree about the lack of in state OL though. It seems weird to me that the fattest state in the union can't shell out some 300+ roadgraders. Though that goes back to show how far behind Mississippi high school football coaching is and I think it hurts lineman development more than any other position.

They will draw some out but not all. That's why I said 1 or 2 per year and not 4 or 5

Wins in 2016 - 6 (State won)
Wins in 2015 - 10* (adding one win to actual win total just to simulate OM losing)
Wins in 2014 - 11* (adding one win to actual win total just to simulate OM losing)
Wins in 2013 - 7 (State won)
Wins in 2012 - 9* (adding one win to actual win total just to simulate OM losing)
Wins in 2011 - 7 (State won)
Wins in 2010 - 9 (State won)
Wins in 2009 - 5 (State won)
Total wins = 64* (including the 3 added wins)
Total # of seasons that Mullen has been at State = 8
64*/8 = 8
61/8 = 7.625
So, even if I add 3 wins (meaning that OM would have lost every single time since Mullen became head coach) Mullen only averages 8 wins a year. Don't see State becoming a consistent 9-10 win program being in the West and having to recruit against the West. Mullen hasn't had but one recruiting class in the top 20, never had one in the top 15.

Now MSU gets all that talent to itself and has the 2nd best coach in the SEC[/quote]
It is debatable that Mullen is 2nd best coach in the SEC behind coach O
You Coach Saban in my opinion could be better than Mullen.

Has anybody in the SEC beaten Saban two times?
How about Mullens?

Bama, LSU, AU, UT will end up with the top guys they want from Mississippi. No doubt State will gain an advantage but this will not propel them over the schools that have more built in advantages. MSU has always been a little inflated under Mullen due to the fact they typically schedule cupcakes in OOC and don't have a permanent big 6 from the east.

But we were not lending houses, rigging ACT scores and paying out the arse to recruits mommy and daddy to land those top classes.
The last thing I expect to see on this board is a fricking Ole Miss fan talking smack about recruiting classes after all your damn cheating. This just proves why the Ncaa is going to hammer the shite out of you.
It starts at the top (the arrogance) and trickles on down to the fans. I would be hiding if I were you. Especially after your paid for classes got the total shite beat out of them by MSU 55-21.

Oh damn, it was actually 55-20. I guess I felt bad inside deep down and gave you an extra point.

No because the only way Ole Miss accomplished anything was because of cheating to get OOS players who put them in position to win a few more games than they normally would.
So how does Ole Miss getting busted and losing out on National kids benefit State?
It doesn't. For State to consistently win 9-10 games a year would mean that they would have to beat Bama, LSU, and A&M year in and year out. Not to mention the SEC East schools they would also have to beat. I don't see where Ole Miss has ever held State back from success because Ole Miss is still the only SEC West School (A&M being a newbie) to never reach Atlanta. State has.
