Stoops was 11-7 against Texas. He didn't own Texas. "Own" would be like Michigan owning Ohio State under John Cooper (2-10-1) or Texas vs A&M (76-37).

61% vs 67%, but Stoops 61% came during one of texas best periods ever. texas 67% was boosted during the dark years post WWII and before A&M fully transitioned from a small military cow college.

A&M and tu have essentially split the series for several decades.

Too bad you R-U-N-N-O-F-T before you could get in positive territory.

Maybe Herman's recruiting success will actually equate to success on the field.

The kissing bandit had the most talented team in the AAC and in his second year lost to Navy, SMU and Memphis. Would have lost the bowl game but he had already hauled arse.

He is known as an offensive guru and when UH got their arse kicked in by SMU 38-16 (while a 23 point favorite) his offense gained 303 yards.

When they won against Tulane his offense gained 287 yards.

In his second year with the most talented team in his conference he finished in sixth place.

Baylor's new coach (Rhule) finished in 1st place in that conference.

He better way out-recruit other teams because 303 and 287 yards against SMU and Tulane won't cut it. Actually, since the B-12 doesn't do defense maybe that shite will win in that shite conference.

What recruiting success? They weren't even in the top 25 in the final rankings this year? Check out the top players from texas last year and where they signed. Texas didn't recruit worth a frick this year...and he kisses his players.

Although Charlie Strong didn't win at Texas, he damn sure did a good job recruiting good players. Herman has way more talent to work with than Strong did when he got there.

yup.

Absolutely cannot wait until we play herman and texas. Have a chance to completely dominate texas recruiting, even more than we are now. LSU will at least match talent with texas and we play a different brand of football. Herman is a pussy, and his teams will be soft, guaranteed.

be careful what you ask for, trends happen.. may not be in ur favor in 2/3 years.

Herman is somewhat unproven, but the OU staff said UH was the hardest hitting team they'd played in years.

Lol, going out on a limb aren't ya?

.500 would satisfy that statement. I liked Charlie as a person, but he can't coach at the level the program required. Sad but true.

Strong did really well til his last class/partial class. He was lined up for his best class until November when the wheels fell off and everyone knew he was gone.

The guy was pedestrian in many aspects of big time coaching, but recruiting wise he's elite.
