Still a tad butthurt LSU might have gotten Herman if alleva hadn't been such a titty baby in negotiations

I'm not too upset about Herman. But Alleva to me seems to be more of a problem. He said the same thing about Fisher's agent during negotiations. Maybe Alleva doesn't like agents. I could be wrong, but I get the feeling Alleva just said frick it I'll hire Ed.

Florida and Florida State neither did much of anything prior to 1990.

A&M is setup for success now more than any other era in it's existence, and will probably knock this next hire out of the park. texas won't define our success, and there is plenty of talent for both of us. Sumlin's work ethic and 8-5 have been our ceiling on recruiting and we've still gotten plenty of talent to win more than we have. Hell, Mike Sherman recruited well enough for us to win 20+ games in 2 years.

I think Herman will be successful, and my biggest concern would be that he flames out in a blaze of glory, hookers, and blow. At his age a coke habit and being a raging alcoholic is still cool, but he's only a couple years from an early midlife crisis.

Major differences from Sumlin: white, male pattern baldness, kisses players, has a mouthy wife, claims MENSA.
