God damn you an obsessed son of a bitch. Remember this, any History OM had was before our time. Mississippi State is just starting the "glory years" of their program and we all get to be apart of it. Suck it Rebear

Funny this only seems to bother the OM fanbase. Practically nothing from any of the fanbases that actually beat us the past few seasons.
Yet, they are the ones feeling the need to repeatedly beat the dead horse by pointing out the one obstacle we haven't crossed yet. Why?

They really should talk shite to someone they have a better chance of beating sometime soon, like UK or Vandy or ULM
ETA: wait, Vandy gonna own that arse 4 in a row this year too. What was I thinking?

How am I obsessed? I was done with this thread on page 3 but I keep getting asked questions. Am I obsessed for replying?
were you not following football in 2008 and 2009? I would dare to say those 2 years were better than anything Mullen has done thus far at State, but if your glory years involve finishing 6th, 5th, and 5th in the west then that's cool.

Because after these past 2 seasons you haven't been going to Bama, LSU, Arkansas, and Auburn fans talking shite. The only team you've talked shite to is us because we're the only team you've beaten, so what do you expect? Of course we're going to talk shite back if you're bragging to us when you haven't really accomplished anything...

The West was literally a piece of shite in 2008 and 09.

Yea Florida was pretty terrible in 08 when we beat them too

Fly the banners. You lost to Vandy, WF, and a 7-5 USCe.

Your 2008 team was a great team. One a competent coach would have led to a BCS game at the VERY LEAST. So congrats, I'll give you that one. Nevermind the fact that you still managed to lose to 3 scrub teams...
Your 2009 team wasn't as good as our 2010 team by any metric you want to look at. Wound up in a better bowl simply because the west was down that year. Wait, actually, your 2009 team wasn't as good as OUR 2009 team, either!

we lost those 3 games in the first half of the year before we even started using McCluster at RB. After we moved him to RB fulltime we didn't lose to anybody else except Bama.
I assume finishing 5th in the West and going to the gator bowl is better than finishing 2nd in the west, being the only team to beat the national championship team, winning the egg bowl, and going to the Cotton Bowl and beating the number #8 Texas Tech team.
Edit: all I was asking is what you would think of Mullen if we ended up beating you and you didn't get the 1 win in the west that he normally gets. No one wanted to answer that I guess and instead started a pissing match

It took Nutt half a season to figure out to use him at rb again in 2009!
I told you already, the 2008 team was better than what Mullen has given us yet. Why are you arguing a point that has already been conceded? The 2009 team was a mediocre football team that loses to all 3 of the teams Mullen has had. I know this because they got skull drug by the worst one.
But since we're stuck in history, the 1999 Bulldogs are STILL the highest ranked team in this state in the past ~ 50 years.

It actually might have been 2009 I'm thinking of before we used him at RB fulltime, not sure
I wasn't replying to you
You're the one that brought up the past, and acted like it was decades since we had done anything in football. I simply pointed out what we did a few years ago.
But like NIH said the West was shite that year, so I assume winning the west that year means nothing to State fans and they'd probably rather have that 2010 season than the season you won the west.

And the fact that you have never represented the west in the championship game just goes to show what a fluke the Florida win was

We lost to Bama by 4 points that year after holding them scoreless in the 2nd half and scoring 17 unanswered points with the ball in the last minute on their end of the field with a chance to win.
We lost to Vanderbilt because McCluster fumbled the ball on their 1 yard line as he was about to score the winning touchdown.
We lost to Wake as we scored the go ahead touchdown and with less than a minute left the ended up scoring.
I don't really remember the SC game
But the Florida win shows that the losses to vandy and wake were flukes IMO and had we had a good coach we probably finish with 1 loss to Bama at worst.
Posted on 5/10/12 at 9:26 pm to umrebel2009
So you're saying that your 3 of your 4 losses were "flukes," but your win against the National Champions wasn't a fluke?
I'm sorry. That's fricking stupid.

Well of course... it's always a fluke when a team beats the almighty powerhouse Ole Miss
