I dont remember the SC game so I have no clue how we lost that.
But yea I think fumbling the ball on the 1 yard line as you're about to score the game winning TD is just as much of a fluke as anything that happened in the Florida game. It's not like our 08 team was a bunch of scrubs, a good bit of them are in the NFL. It wasn't like Florida was beat by the 07 Orgeron coached team

But Tebow's late fumble, Florida's 3 late turnovers, in the Swamp was in no way a fluke**

It was our largest margin of defeat. We turned the ball over a decent amount and they didn't. I'll agree the Wake and Vandy games were flukes and if we hadn't shot ourselves in the foot against USC we probably win that game as well. But we got a lot of lucky breaks against Florida. It's hard to say that it wasn't a fluke as well.

Just as likely as our losses to be flukes..
Considering our entire secondary, linebackers, and 2 deep DL from that team are all pretty much in the NFL now, no I would not say it is unheard of for them to cause problems for Florida's offense that day.
I would say 2 teams whose rosters were made up mostly of players who are now in the NFL, playing a game that ends in a 1 point difference seems alot less like a fluke than a 4-4 vanderbilt team beating our 08 team that day.

You lost 4 fricking games that year. They lost 1...enroute to a NC. UF losing to OM is the exact definition of a fluke.

You are a sad sad rebel, hope you realized that between page 3-7
I mean the butt hurt is strong, very strong in this one..not entirely sure why either

were you not following football in 2008 and 2009? I would dare to say those 2 years were better than anything Mullen has done thus far at State
Well hot damn. I guess it's a good thing that this probably isn't Mullen's last season huh? Maybe he can actually do it with his own players too.

The loss we had to Vandy that year was a fluke. Wake beat us in week 2 as we were still trying to find an identity, and we should've held on to the lead with a little better clock management at the end. USCe was just an awful performance. No excuses there. We lost to Bama by 4 points.
The argument that "they lost 1 game, and we lost 4 is just silly." No doubt it was an "upset" though. I'll give you that. But that 08 team was stacked with talent, and it was absolutely no fluke that we beat them. We've always given Florida fits. It's their fault for underestimating that team, and we just took advantage of their mistakes. Why is that so hard for state fans to admit?

I admit that it was very irregular for the gators to have those 2 fumbles but get your facts straight guy, they werent in the last 5 min of the game or anything near "late", they were in the beginning of the 3rd qtr.
Yes we caught some breaks that day but you wanna know what else we did? Threw an 87 yard td on 3rd and 13 with the Swamp shattering our eardrums to take the lead.
Wanna know what else? Stopped TT on a 4th and a foot TO WIN THE GAME. Pllllease name someone else who did that during TT's 4 year career. Lastly, my man Kendrick Lewis dropped a pick that he would have been a no-doubter to the crib. We're talking cartwheels into the endzone.
So yea, we caught some breaks that day but we also played a fantastic game and made "The Great One" cry. Was it a fluke? In my opinion no, look at all the NFL talent on that 2008 team. We lost by 3 to Bama at BDS with a chance to win at the end and that was when no one was fricking with Bama.
Like I have said before, I would have lined us up with anyone in 2008. That team was special. Yea we lost some games we shouldnt have but during the back half of the season we could have played with anyone.

Wake was good. Just because a team isn't is talented as you doesn't make it a fluke.

Oh hush. Just becasue TSUN had a win that is now chronicled on the side of the Swamp doesnt mean State fans shouldnt pound their greasy name-tagged chests over beating a 7-5 UF team, I mean hey, I bet atleast 4 of their 5 losses were flukes. Amiriiitte??

Congrats you played Bama hard at home... and lost. You loss to Wake, Vandy, and a mediocre USCe at home. You beat a shitty Arky, Auburn, and State squad. You beat 7 win LSU team. And then you get lucky enough to play the most overrated team of the decade in the Cotton Bowl.
I mean that's how I see it.
